Autumn selection

Yaaaaay we're in September and that means, that fall is unofficially here. Say goodbye to sweating for the whole day, restless nights and mosquito bites. I had enough of staring at tons of pictures from holiday on my Facebook wall. Like we all don’t know how the sea side looks like. We spend too much time and money for summer. Diets, clothes, products… like that we live just for the summer break. Does anyone prepare for autumn?

I’m looking forward to new seasons of TV shows, upcoming movies, Duchess of Cambridge on tour to Canada (yes that’s right, but only I’m curious about her clothes), cold evenings with burning my favorite candles, soups for lunch, hot baths, walks in nature and cuddling under the blanket with my boyfriend. The rain is still romantic now, because I was missing it. I’m considering replacing my ice cream treats with waffles and cakes – that will be fun! And I also need to start working out again. These are my highlights of colder days.

I admit, I was thinking about doing summer favorites, but then I changed my mind. Let’s move on and skip that. I’m going to do my fall selection of beauty products I already own. This is my favorite season. Makeup and also clothes collections for fall/winter usually involve my most loved colors. I adore shades of brown, golden, gray, violet, dark green and dark red. Black is a must and it makes me look older and more serious. It’s time for heavier makeup, darker nails and bolder fragrances. Let’s see what was ˝sleeping˝ in my drawer and I consider typical for fall. I already did the reviews of most of them, so the introduction will be short.

The Balm – Pinstripe blush
This one looks a bit scary in the pan, especially if you have a fair skin like me. If it’s applied lightly and blended well, it’s a gorgeous dark pink/mauve/red with micro golden glitter. I think it looks natural on me. It’s a similar color to my cheeks after a workout and that is supposed to be a perfect color of blush for you.You can find a review of Pinstripe here: http://petrichor2016.blogspot.si/2016/06/all-my-blushes.html

L’oreal – Frieda’s nude lipstick
Since I got it, I wear it all the time. Mauve/brown with a subtle silver shimmer what makes it special. Find a review here: http://petrichor2016.blogspot.si/2016/08/my-lipsticks.html

OPI – I kneadh sour dough nail polish
OK this is officially a fall color. This dark red/brown color has a frosty finish and some tiny golden glitters. It is a very pretty, universal color I must say, just not for me. The formula is not OPI’s best; it chips quite fast, so I would definitely recommend wearing a top coat. The color is pretty opaque by my opinion, on my toes I can wear only one coat and it looks great. On hands I usually paint two coats that it lasts longer. It applies evenly and dries fast. Dark colors for me look best on short nails.

Bvlgari – Jasmin Noir L’essence fragrance
This one always makes me feel grown up and powerful. It’s strong, so I was missing it during the summer. Jasmin, smoke and tonka bean – great smoky, mean and sweet combination. Different from that fruit/patchuly combinations that are so trendy now. It is stronger than the original version of Jasmin Noir, so with this, you will stand out a bit for sure. Sleek – Vintage romance eyeshadow palette
I believe that there is so many reviews of this palette around the web that this doesn’t need a long description. Vintage romance is a good combination of 12 typical fall eyeshadows and it’s a bit off my comfort zone. I love burgundy shades, but I believe they don’t suit me. They give me that eye infection effect. I always combine them with more natural shadows, so I toned them down on this way. My favorite colors are: Lust in LA, Romance in Rome and Bliss in Barcelona. All shadows are nicely pigmented and easy to blend. The quality is not outstanding but it’s good for it’s price. I admit I have some regrets buying it. I bought it because I wanted to experiment with different colors a bit, but when I reach for shadows, this palette is usually my latest choice. It’s just not me. I decided to give it another chance this fall.  It’s gorgeous to look at, but only to look at. It doesn’t scream ˝wear me for work today˝. The packaging is firm and sleek, the mirror inside is also a nice thing. But if I apply my makeup without my contacts I prefer to use my magnifying mirror, because my vision is just too short.
