My retired fragrance collection

I’m that kind of person who gets occasionally attached to material things and one of my little obsessions is collecting perfume bottles. I don’t have a big fragrance collection at this moment, I own 5 perfumes (and planning to buy one soonJ). But I kept majority of the bottles of perfumes which I wore over the years. Each of them brings back some memories. They are not all favorites of mine, some of them I don’t like at all. Usually those are the ones that were given to me as a gift, but I kept the bottle anyway. Most of them are already discontinued. I tried to find dupes for some of them, but I was not really successful.

Katy Perry – Meow (2011)
This is an awesome fruity – fresh and very, very sweet scent. It smells like pear and vanilla. It’s too strong for me and gives that teenage girl vibe and a headache. It also irritates my skin, so I can wear it only on my clothes, what I don’t like. The bottle is too cute and far from being empty. I tried to give it to my friend, but she didn’t like it, so I just kept it.

Katy Perry – Killer Queen oh so sheer (2014)
This was a blind buy, it was very cheap and that is also how it smells. To me it smells like one of those fruity car fresheners. The bottle is nice, but that cap is made only for decoration.

Cindy Crawford – Summer day (2006)
Perfection. The bottle is super nice and the smell is very unique to me. Summer day smells like rain, fresh flowers and bamboo. This fragrance is sadly not available anymore. It’s not something I typically prefer, but I would love to find something similar.

Gloria Vanderbilt – Reverie (1999)
If I’m not wrong I got this for my 16th birthday from my friends. It was a big deal then and I used it only for special occasions. It’s a sweet oriental flower, not in sale anymore and again without a dupe. The bottle is simple, but the liquid was violet.

Chloe – Love eau floral (2012)
This is something that I absolutely hate. And even more sad is, that I bought it myself. There was some love for a period of time, but it turned to hate. I don’t know, maybe it changed or went bad. I always forget to try out new bottle in the store to check. Anyway, Chloe smells like green tea, old makeup and sugar. It’s very strong and turns my stomach.

Rihanna – Rebelle (2012)
This was a birthday gift. I never liked it. Firstly the bottle is strange and kitsch-y, and the smell… it smells like sweet coffee and chocolate, mixed with something spicy in a very bad way. It supposed to smell delicious, but it’s not. And the dry down is even worse, because it gets sweeter.

Britney Spears - Circus Fantasy (2009) and Island Fantasy (2013)
Sugar, sugar and more sugar, mixed with citruses. Those were given to me from my friend, because she didn’t like them anymore. I received them 1/3 of the bottles full. There was not a lot of love, but the bottles, especially the second one are gorgeous. Both fragrances are just too sweet and too youthful. Circus fantasy is fruity-floral and Island fantasy is citrusy sweet. There’s nothing much to say.

Christina Aguilera – Secret Potion (2011) and Inspire (2008)
Secret potion is strong, sweeter oriental flower and I liked it very much. It’s was a bit too strong for a daytime, but excellent for night and of course, colder nights. I bought it myself and went through it in one winter. Inspire was just ok. Something floral-fruity for everyday, I was wearing it for school. I would say it’s a common celebrity fragrance. Both bottles are nice, I like the inspire one better.

Naomi Campbell – Wild pearl (2011) and At night (2012)
Wild pear is very fruity. Main note I got from it is watermelon. I loved it during summer. It was quite nice, but nothing spectacular. At night I got as a gift. I really liked it. It smells more expensive and elegant, like it’s not from a celebrity. This is oriental floral, with lots of vanilla, tonka bean and powder. A lot of people said those bottles reminds them of toys for grownups, but they remind me of animal claws.

Naomi Campbell – Exult (2001)
My mother bought it for my for Christmas and I was instantly in love. The bottle is so unique and fun. I adore the combination of orange and violet color. It just makes me smile and brings back to childhood. It’s a floral fruity, but to me smells like floral oriental. Oranges and some white flowers, mixed with wood and spices. Discontinued and without successful copies.

Naomi Campbell – Naomi (2010)
Naomi is like fresh laundry with some added sugar. Very pleasant, not too loud, something for everyday. I bought it for myself, when I pass an important exam.

Naomi Campbell – Naomagic (2000)
Naomagic is my BIG love. I even found a good dupe for it, because it’s discontinued  – Giorgio Armani’s Lei. They are not identical, Naomi’s version is fresher and softer, but are quite close. The bottle was pretty unique for that time. This was my first ˝serious˝ perfume, my mum bot it for me. I wore it just on special days, and always thought it is so expensive, because Naomi’s name is on it. Naomagic is floral with some oriental vibe. It smells mostly like vanilla, jasmine, musk and something fresh mixed between. Although I adore it, it’s very hard to describe it. Now I get similar feelings from Armani, it brings back memories.
