When I first saw it, I immediately thought that this must be mine
someday. I own three eye shadow palettes; two of them are neutrals, bus
something was still missing. I didn’t have any grey shadows, but felt in love with
them recently. Soft grays are natural, but not so typical. They emphasize my
brown-green eyes beautifully without drowning them in color, like brown colors
do. But there is one downside, wrong shade can make you look a bit pale, so you
need to choose and combine them correctly. My favorite combinations are: matte,
gray with shimmer lilac or with shimmer olive silver. Lilac and green are my
top, non nude eye shadow colors, but sometimes it’s hard to wear them alone.
Ok, we went off topic a bit, so let’s get back to palette. Zoeva is newer brand
from Germany and if I’m not wrong is sold only in web shops, but you can get
their makeup brushes in Douglas drugstores all over Europe. I saw the En taupe
palette on Douglas website and was convinced that they sell them also in
stores, but I was wrong. Maybe that changed by now, but I was searching for it
during my trip to Vienna sadly and without success. At this point I would like
to thank to my boyfriend for searching it with me. Then I ordered it online for a bit higher
price, because postage from Germany to Slovenia was 8€.
Zoeva’s makeup is made in Italy (brushes probably not, but I really
don’t know) and it’s free of parabens, mineral oils and fragrances. Palette
itself costs 17,90€, what is a great price for something with better
ingredients and good quality. Color
selection is great for my taste, but I think some will miss darker shades.
Pigmentation is also very good, except shades Hour by Hour and my favorite color Gallery doesn’t show up that well. Shadows are quite long wearing;
despite I don’t use a primer.
Packaging is just stunning! Palette is made of thin but hard cardboard,
it’s very sleek and elegant. I don’t own it long enough to tell, but I’m
concerned that the cardboard edges will wear off quite quick. I store it between
my other palettes and have to pull it out every time I want to use it.
What would I do different? I don’t see the point of two similar
highlighting shadows, Spun Perl and Stich by Stich. I know they are not
identical, for some people are very different, even maybe a world apart, but
for me are just two highlight shades. I would put softer version of Old Master in it instead of one of
them.
