Food review: Noodles from The Wok

*This review was written by my boyfriend Krištof, because food is one of his passions.

On Saturday me and my girlfriend visited "restaurant" The Wok, which is located in the city centre of Ljubljana. It serves noodles together with ingredients of your own choosing and everything comes neatly packed in a box. On the outside The Wok looks like an ordinary fast food restaurant, you have a couple of tables and a bar where you order the food. There is another floor above the restaurant where you take your food and eat. The decor inside is quite modern and trendy and I liked it. The part where you order your food can be quite confusing, since you have three columns of ingredients and you can mix those together to find the noodles you like most. After you order you get a receipt with your number and you have to wait for your order.

So we ordered 2 x whole wheat noodles with shrimps and teriyaki sauce. What we received is not what we ordered, so that was the first shock. They got one order right (Whole wheat noodles + shrimps) but for the second order I got noodles with chicken and tofu and spicy sauce. I actually liked the chicken and tofu noodles better then shrimp so that was quite a pleasant coincidence

My order of noodles with chicken, egg, tofu, paprika and spicy sauce was a bit too "hot" for my taste, but otherwise all the ingredients blended together quite nicely. The other order of whole-wheat noodles and shrimps was not that good. On the bottom there was a layer of broth, which I didn't find appealing. Also the whole wheat noodles were just whole-wheat spaghetti, maybe that's why the released too much water and created the broth at the bottom.

Also there was another thing that bothered me at the restaurant, and that was the fact that they allowed dogs inside. Next to our table there was a big dog, which was well behaved but still not dogs are like that.

Overall the food was good but not excellent.
