Caudalie Polyphenol Overnight detox oil

Using facial oils is so modern now, but the idea of putting oil on my oily face sounded just ridiculous to me till’ recently when I read an article about power of oils. They can actually balance your skin, reduce the production of sebum, tighten your pores and do so much more. This sounds magical, right? But there’s one big question… which one should you buy? What does your skin need? The one that is popular between Youtubers, the expensive one, the one with the most beautiful add? Ok I’m kidding, but seriously, the market is full of all kinds of facial oils with big promises. After reading tons of reviews, comparing ingredients (of which I’ve got no idea what is effective and good) and prices I selected Caudalie’s night detox oil, because my skin needed some ˝food˝.

This dry oil is for all skin types; it’s a mixture of 5 essential oils (lavender, carrot, white sandalwood, neroli, petitgrain) and 3 vegetal oils (grape seed, sweet almond, rose).

˝This dry oil helps to renew and protect your overtired skin while you sleep. Skin is detoxified and the complexion is revitalized˝ (Caudalie website)

I use it about four times a week, four nights to be exact. I need only 4 drops, warm them up a bit with rubbing between hands and then massaging on clean face. This is so relaxing and calming. The smell of this oil is quite strong and herbal like, but it eventually fades away and doesn’t bother me. It is specific and everyone won’t like it. I could say you get pamper and aromatherapy at the same time. It takes time to sink in, so I don’t use it right before bed, but at least an hour before. You also need to avoid eye area and wash your hands after use. I just hate that greasy feeling on my hands. It is clear, doesn’t have any color.

After a month of use I can say that my skin looks a bit healthier and even. I didn’t have any breakouts or irritations. Cheeks which can get dry during night are nicely hydrated, without that tightening feeling in the morning. It improved my skin a bit and that is basically all I expected. My little zits from forehead are gone, hopefully for good. It’s not a miracle product, but a very good moisturizer with antioxidants and can be a good addition to your skin care regimen during winter. I feel and see that cold weather, heating, stress; dry air and wearing makeup makes my skin so tired sometimes. I believe this is helping me.

The packaging is standard for oils, dark green glass bottle with black pipette cap. Or do they call this a dropper? Anyway I like this kind of bottles, they look so chic fancy and grown up. I calculated that on average I only use 16 drops per week, so this will last for a long time. I bought my oil online for 28€, in local stores is about 40€.
