Surrounded with roses

A few months ago I purchased Rose lip balm from Melvita and just adored it. I used it up in four weeks; it was in my hands constantly. So I decided to try something else from their line with roses. My first choice was a light face moisturizer – Nectar de Roses hydrating facial gel. Never enough of moisture and quality skincare, right? I am not very impressed with the product. It comes in cute pinky-white packaging, practical tube with pump which contains 40ml. Thumbs up for that, previous one was not so inviting. The thing that is bothering me the most is the smell, it is so overpowering to me. Although it contains high quality natural rose oil, it is just too much. I had also similar experience with Nuxe. What’s up with these overly fragranced products? Feels like I’ve been putting perfume on my face and not a cream for sensitive skin. It’s a miracle that it doesn’t irritate my skin or eyes, although I avoid eye area, it also didn’t break me out. It is more appropriate for normal skin than mine oily, but it’s not too heavy. It gives nicely fresh feeling after application and its consistent is a bit watery, but still rich.  Sometimes I need something ˝stronger˝. It’s nothing special, to be honest, a decent light moisturizer with organic certificate and consequently higher price. I don’t doubt in quality of ingredients, just don’t understand why it has to be so perfumed. It has good reviews, but no one seemed to mention overpowering smell. It is just me?

Recently I spot this on sale and I had to try it, I love to try out new things. I’m talking about emulsion or by official name known as two phased elixir for legs in spray, called L’or Rose beautiful light legs from Melvita. Big promises from the label on the back side. Your legs supposed to feel lighter and relaxed after use, it also supposed to reduce swollenness of your feet. I didn’t have big expectations. Come on, what can a water, mixed with some oil really do? I would describe this as light oily moisturizer, with mild, short lasting cooling effect. It’s a good alternative to heavy dry oils. I spray it before putting on shorts or a dress, to make my legs look better. It gives a bit shiny effect to the skin, so that’s why is gold mentioned in its name I suppose. It absorbs quickly and gives you great refreshing feeling. I don’t use if on my feet, because it’s still an oil and it would get slippery in shoes, maybe I’ll try this before going to bed. This actually smells really good and not so strong, I get fresh roses with some pepper and citruses. But still, you can notice the fragrance, so it is not very wise to combine it with your perfume. Appealing glass bottle contains 100ml. Essential summer product you can’t live without? Definitely not, especially if you buy it when it’s not reduced. But if you want to treat yourself, why not?
