Spring cravings

At first glance, this list might look humble and budget-friendly, but believe me, it is not. Trips to the drugstores are usually expensive and our desires just don’t know how to settle where there are so many new things all the time. Especially with the arrival of the new season. How should we even call this list? Spring wishes? Easter treats? Let’s go to the business! I never had a lot of luck with Melvita’s products, but a few months ago I got a tester of their apparently famous rose water and I loved it. It was so refreshing, calming and smelled very nice.  Source de Roses – Extraordinary water  is their version of hyaluronic gel enriched with rose water. I am a huge fan of hyaluronic serums, so this might be for me. As long as it is not sticky. I hate sticky gels. So if this is something like Mineral 89 with the addition of that gorgeous rosy smell – I’m sold! After being a religious user of Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm from Clinique for years, I think it is time for a ...

Surrounded with roses

A few months ago I purchased Rose lip balm from Melvita and just adored it. I used it up in four weeks; it was in my hands constantly. So I decided to try something else from their line with roses. My first choice was a light face moisturizer – Nectar de Roses hydrating facial gel. Never enough of moisture and quality skincare, right? I am not very impressed with the product. It comes in cute pinky-white packaging, practical tube with pump which contains 40ml. Thumbs up for that, previous one was not so inviting. The thing that is bothering me the most is the smell, it is so overpowering to me. Although it contains high quality natural rose oil, it is just too much. I had also similar experience with Nuxe. What’s up with these overly fragranced products? Feels like I’ve been putting perfume on my face and not a cream for sensitive skin. It’s a miracle that it doesn’t irritate my skin or eyes, although I avoid eye area, it also didn’t break me out. It is more appropriate for normal sk...

First impressions: Afrodita, Melvita and Tonymoly

Even though I really like something, it’s extremely fun for me to try something new, to make a change. And so when I ran out of my beloved face toner from Ziaja I decided to try another one. I choose Clean phase toner from ˝our˝ (I mean Slovenian) brand Afrodita for normal to oily skin. It contains hyaluronic acid and lemon extract. It smells fresh and cream like if you know what I mean. I think it cleans very well, but it’s doesn’t leave that tightening feeling or dry skin, so it’s gentle enough. Of course you need to moisturize afterwards or whatever your next step is. It is very affordable, somewhere from 3 to 4€. In our country is sold almost everywhere, from bigger drugstores to small local supermarkets. The packaging is basic, but appealing. The most important thing is that it doesn’t leak like some other bottles do. I had very bad experience with Garnier. For softer cleaning or removing light makeup I currently use rose water from Melvita . This is actually a face mis...
