First impressions: Afrodita, Melvita and Tonymoly

Even though I really like something, it’s extremely fun for me to try something new, to make a change. And so when I ran out of my beloved face toner from Ziaja I decided to try another one. I choose Clean phase toner from ˝our˝ (I mean Slovenian) brand Afrodita for normal to oily skin. It contains hyaluronic acid and lemon extract. It smells fresh and cream like if you know what I mean. I think it cleans very well, but it’s doesn’t leave that tightening feeling or dry skin, so it’s gentle enough. Of course you need to moisturize afterwards or whatever your next step is. It is very affordable, somewhere from 3 to 4€. In our country is sold almost everywhere, from bigger drugstores to small local supermarkets. The packaging is basic, but appealing. The most important thing is that it doesn’t leak like some other bottles do. I had very bad experience with Garnier.

For softer cleaning or removing light makeup I currently use rose water from Melvita. This is actually a face mist, but I never use it for that purpose. I think that just looks silly – I’m sorry if you like spraying face mists. I must admit that my first intention was to try famous beauty elixir from Caudalie, but they didn’t have it in the store. Sadly that elixir was something from the section ˝Youtube made me buy it˝.

This was my impulsive buy, but I never regretted it, because I like the product. The only thing I was concerned about was the smell. Lavender can sometimes smell so good and pleasant, but sometimes more like something you would put only in your bathroom. Luckily this lavender is very good one, it smell exactly like the Teekanne ˝Sweet dreams˝ tea, which I love. It is gentle and doesn’t irritate my eyes, so I use it also as eye makeup remover, usually after cleaning with a bit stronger cleanser to calm down the skin. I would use it for ˝mid˝ cleaning or refreshing during hot summer days. I doubt in beneficial ingredients of water and it’s not cheap either, so I’m not sure I’ll repurchase it. The packaging is practical and inviting.

Who can resist this cute little panda? I couldn’t either. Tonymoly’s Panda's dream so cool eye stick has the sweetest packaging ever. This is cooling stick for tired and dry eyes. I thought it would be perfect for me, since I’m staring for the whole day at my screen and have dry eyes. I have mixed feelings about it. It is cooling, but not strongly. Also it’s not a very good as moisturizer. But it has a quite strong tightening effect which I like. I don’t know if it is just my imagination or if it truly makes my fine lines less visible. The application is very pleasant, as I said a bit cooling and refreshing. Product is just slightly sticky and has fresh, men’s deodorant type of smell. I haven’t  tried this yet, but I doubt it would be a good base for my under eye concelear. I assume it would make some kind of dry patches. What else can I say? Oh yes, it doesn’t irritate my eyes – a miracle. For now, I’m using it just on the afternoons when I’m working on my computer at home or reading. If it turns out to be a good primer for eyeshadows or concelear, I’ll definitely let you know.
