Essie: Sand tropez

As always, when it comes to the good stuff, I’m late for the game. This shade doesn’t need an extensive introduction, because it is almost iconic, this is  Sand Tropez by Essie. It is solid neutral, appropriate for all seasons and all possible occasions and outfits. I would describe it as warm medium beige creme with gray undertones. This shade looks classy and sophisticated, so it is very office and school-friendly. I was afraid that it will be too boring and will not suit my skin tone, but it looks fine. When it comes to neutral shades they can sometimes simply look too plain. The formula is thin, fast-drying, and applied nicely and evenly. I love Essie’s wide brush on my fingernails but hate using it on my toes. The color is buildable and completely opaque after three coats. For my pictures, I did just two and I was ok with how it looked. Although I like it waring on my own, I just love how it looks with another sandy, but glittery and textured polish I own –  Zoya Godiva ....

ESSIE: Sunny Business

L ately, I’ve been really enjoying wearing yellow whether it be on my clothes, accessories, or in makeup, so nails are no exception. I’m usually very picky about shades, you know, not every yellow is a good yellow. Some are just too straight in your face and not very office appropriate and I didn’t want to own yet another so-called weekend polish. I found new summer release  Sunny Business  by  Essie  during my scrolling through Instagram pics, like usual, and got immediately attracted by this positive ray of sunshine with the same name as the collection. Sunny Business  is quite sheer, shimmery golden yellow. To me, the focus is on golden what is a shame in some way, because from the pictures I saw online, I expected more of a yellow tone. The color is not  very buildable, for the pictures I used three layers and as you can see, my nail line is still visible. Maybewith adding two more, I would finally get my desirable shade, but who wants to do that anyway...

Nail polishes for Autumn part 2

Here's the second part of my selection of nail polish colors for fall. Previous post was dedicated just to OPI, this one we'll filled up with two other brands. Zoya is my second favorite nail polish. I love it, because it's less toxic and has a great selection of colors. I adore their texture polishes, named PixieDust, but they are horrible to remove. Well, nothing is perfect I guess.Their brushes are quite ok, but on forums I read that their formula can sometimes be too thick and hard to dry. I haven't experienced that yet, but if I do, I'll let you know. Enough of chatting, let's get to business. My selection from Zoya is from their Naturel deux collection from 2014. They both have cream formula and supposed to be a bit on the thicker side. I must admit that this turns me off a bit. It would be a shame to spent around 10-12€ on a bad polish. But how will I know if it's bad if I don't try and the colors are gorgeous. Marnie I would describe...

Essie: Kimono over

Let’s start a New Year with a nail polish review! I'm not a big fan of dark nail polishes; my collection is mostly build of nude colors. But recently I decided to make some changes and buy makeup products that are out of my comfort zone. One of them was also dark plum, almost black polish from Essie, called Kimono over. This polish is from their fall collection from 2016, inspired by Japan and is (thankfully) the only one that caught my eye. If I'm not mistaken, it would become a part of permanent collection. Kimono over in my first Essie nail polish, I didn’t know what to expect since reviews about Essie’s products are so different. After reading about them on forums I got a feeling that this brand is not so popular, maybe even bad for your nails. But if it’s good for the Queen and apparently Mrs. Trump, it’s also good for me. I’m so used to OPI’s wide brushes and big caps which are very easy to hold in a hand, that I had some issues when applying. The brush...
