November Fragrance Tray

I’ve been waiting for this colder weather for a long time. My reason is simple - I’ve been sick of my fresh scents and craving for something stronger, with more character . You know, a proper perfumes with some personality.   So yesterday I composed my little collection for this month, so called ˝My monthly tray˝. I do that since I own quite a lot of fragrances and like to have them in respectable rotation. My selection for November contains slightly older releases and even classics because I am not really a fan of today’s mainstream fragrances and trends. Estee Lauder – Sensuous (2008) This one is very woody, spicy, and quite masculine. Slightly sweet and perfectly rounded. I wear it for work and it gives me that instant boost of confidence because it is a serious and mature fragrance. It can be heavy sometimes, but still polite enough to not to give me a headache. If you want something different , but still familiar enough and cosy, give it a try. Emporio Armani –...

My most worn fragrances of the season

This time I would like to introduce you to my three most worn fragrances of the season. Fall can be tricky with temperatures. It is not yet cold enough for deep, strong scents and on the other hand, softer perfumes can be ˝lost˝ too quickly. These three are somewhere in between, well at least for my taste. It is not a true nighttime fragrance to me, because it is just too bright. The second prominent note is grapefruit, which I am not a big fan of, but it is tolerable. The dry down is a combination of something slightly sweet, smooth, and spicy and again with a hint of patchouli from the ...

Most worn fragrances this season

I experience fall like a colorful transition, full of cold, foggy mornings and cozy, sunny afternoons. It’s a mixture of everything, from one extreme to another. It’s harder to choose which clothes to wear and in which perfume to enjoy. Because it’s not time for heavy orientals yet, no, they can strangle you in the middle of the day. Soft florals and citruses? Not my cup of tea, especially not in this time of the year. I love something in between. Let’s start with something iconic, but in its younger version. Chanel no.5 eau Premiere is easily said my favorite fragrance (so far). This was my first serious introduction to aldehydes. I don’t like original no. 5; I think it is too heavy and too mature for me. Eau Premiere is like late summer sunshine, surrounded by field of flowers and sealed with sweetness of vanilla. It somehow comforts me. Currently it’s my work fragrance, but that doesn’t mean that it is less important. Although I like it, I’m still looking forward to try i...
