Most worn fragrances this season

I experience fall like a colorful transition, full of cold, foggy mornings and cozy, sunny afternoons. It’s a mixture of everything, from one extreme to another. It’s harder to choose which clothes to wear and in which perfume to enjoy. Because it’s not time for heavy orientals yet, no, they can strangle you in the middle of the day. Soft florals and citruses? Not my cup of tea, especially not in this time of the year. I love something in between.

Let’s start with something iconic, but in its younger version. Chanel no.5 eau Premiere is easily said my favorite fragrance (so far). This was my first serious introduction to aldehydes. I don’t like original no. 5; I think it is too heavy and too mature for me. Eau Premiere is like late summer sunshine, surrounded by field of flowers and sealed with sweetness of vanilla. It somehow comforts me. Currently it’s my work fragrance, but that doesn’t mean that it is less important. Although I like it, I’m still looking forward to try its next possible interpretations. This version is from 2015, previous was released in 2007. I guess I’ll have to wait for quite some time.

The next one is a bit more aggressive, buts still on the kind side. Crystal Noir by Versace is another well known fragrance. I ˝spot˝ it everywhere, all year long. I adore its floral creaminess, mixed with spices and touch of coconut. Dreamy, but sometimes loud combination. It is like a summer memory, because of that slightly suntan lotion vibe.

Let’s move to the darker side now, dominated by patchouli and sweetness. I’m not sure if I’m familiar with original Candy, but this version blew me away. Prada Candy by Night is pure dark chocolate in the bottle accompanied by minty patchouli. Does that exist? Minty patchouli? Anyway that is how my nose interprets it. This perfume can be strange sometimes. There are days when I really enjoy it and days, when the patchouli part bothers me and I crave straight chocolate. Anyway I would say that is it grown up gourmand, playful and designed to make you smile.

I’ll wrap this post up with another I would say familiar fragrance, Jasmin Noir Splendida by Bvlgari. This was love at first sniff for sure. It was my first serious perfume and made me feel important and grown up. Combination of jasmine, musk and patchouli is wonderful. There’s some shy and muted sweetness in between, but it never stands out too much, which is great. For me, it is strictly a cold weather perfume, reserved for special occasions and evenings. But that doesn’t mean that I can’t have special occasions alone or at home.
