Holographic makeup trend

I'm a huge fan of everything sparkling. When I see shiny things, I’m like a kid in a candy store. They are like magnet to my eyes. Sparkling things in makeup can be scary and over the top. I mean they look gorgeous, but can be wearable? Truly wearable for daily use? Yes they can! Holographic trend has been strongly present in fashion and beauty industry for some time now. I lately spot it mostly on accessories and all ranges of makeup. It’s not just for teenage girls anymore, we also see it in makeup for ˝grown up’s˝. I recently bought two holographic makeup items. First one was truly love at first sight; I bought it immediately when I saw it. My dreams finally came true, they made lavender highlighter! This is actually highlighting duo from Makeup factory named ˝Holographic illusion powder˝ and was part of holiday collection presented back in December. It might be made for holidays, but also for soft spring looks.  It contains violet (lilac dimension...

Makeup decluttering

My makeup collection is minimalistic compared to most of Youtubers or famous bloggers, beauty gurus. I would like to get it even smaller, especially in the nail polish and fragrance sector. I’m simply afraid that my products will go bad before I complete them. I’m not sure what would be ideal numbers for certain type of products. Maybe I should narrow down my polishes to number 10 and fragrances to 4. One perfume for each season would be ideal, but life without great colors and seductive smells is just boring and there is always something on my wish list. One afternoon I just opened my drawers and went through all products. The rule was simple: what I’m not using or it’s just not that great has to go away. Here’s the list of things I throw away: Makeup factory: Strobbing fluid I thought I would use this all year around and would look like natural highlighter, but it’s just too shiny and somehow heavy. I just used it during summer couple of times and then it was forgot...

My IT pieces for winter

Hello and happy Friday! Today I want to present to you something a bit different, we’ll talk about fashion. I’ll show you my favorite pieces for colder days that I already own and my wish list for upcoming months which already includes summer dress. Stores already sell summer dresses! Recently I’ve been sort off lucky fashion wise, because I love latest trends. I adore checked patterns, 70s fashion, mustard yellow tones, tweed, floral embroidery and classical marine look stripes. Checked dress with floral embroidery (Zara) This is my new addition. I bought it on sale after at least three months of observing it from far and wondering if I would ever wear this or not. To be honest it is still waiting for debut. I think that will be next month for my father birthday when we’re planning to go out for a lunch. I think it is short enough to be worn over pants and not too warm for upcoming spring. Checks alone can be boring, so these flowers are somehow uplifting. Hope they don’t loo...

Illamasqua: "Katie" blush

Recently I've been obsessed with finding my new, soft shade of blush, which would scream for spring, although we are still in the middle of winter. I wanted something soft and doll like for my paler cheeks. My big wish is to own a true lavender blush, but I’m afraid it would turn blue-ish on my cheeks. I thought about ˝Full of joy˝ from MAC, but it’s only available as refill and I don’t like that. Makeup needs nice packaging! Nice lavender also comes from Tonymoly in shade ˝Milky pink˝, but waiting for an Ebay order can sometimes be endless. Also I was skeptical about ingredients. Another beauty was Duo of emotions Prism blush in shade ˝Tender˝ from Givenchy with crazy price tag.  The other day I went to Zagreb and passed by Illamasqua counter. Firstly I was surprised that this brand is sold there, because they eliminated it from most drugstores. Secondly I noticed how beautiful blushes they have. I immediately recognized ˝Katie˝. I know for this blush for a long time, but...

Artdeco: Full precision lipstick in no.40 "Mellow mauve"

I'm guilty of buying another lipstick and again it comes from Artdeco – Full precision lipstick in ˝Mellow mauve˝ . It looks like they are my sponsor, I own a lot from them, but trust me, they’re not. This lipstick is advertised as the most precise one in the world – bold advertising. Let me just tell you at the beginning that it’s not. At least if you have thinner lips like me. Or I’m just too clumsy, could be. Full pre ision lipstick is very thin, thinner than Rimmel’s gel lipsticks. It has triangular shape and contains only 1g of product. I paid a lot for this 1g, 12,95€. It bothers me that the lippie is not entirely stored into packaging, but the top of it stays outside, so you can easily ruin it. Think on Wet n Wild lipsticks. I find it difficult to apply it. If I apply it in classic way, then it’s too wide for my lips and crosses my lip line somehow. I need to be very careful, it’s not that easy. Maybe I will get used to it. Also I don’t really like the colo...

Battle against dandruff

Dealing with an itchy scalp and constant flaking is very frustrating, especially if you like wearing darker clothes, which get full of white flakes almost instantly. There are countless or home remedies for dealing with dandruff, but in my opinion few of them work long term. I’ve tried from honey – olive oil – lemon juices mixes to different kinds of vinegar. While those remedies worked temporarily they were kind of annoying due to cleanup (from oils) and due to smell (from vinegar). So I’ve turned to pharmaceutical remedies. The first thing that was recommended on the internet was Ketoconazole. In my country you can only buy shampoos containing Ketoconazole in the pharmacy. The brand name is Oronazol and it contains 2 % Ketoconazole and costs around 12 € for 100ml bottle, which is kind of expensive. It lasts for about 1 month if you have shorter hair. But the problem with this particular brand is that it left my hair very dry, which amplified my problem with dandruff. My scal...
