Food review: Noodles from The Wok

*This review was written by my boyfriend Krištof, because food is one of his passions. On Saturday me and my girlfriend visited "restaurant" The Wok, which is located in the city centre of Ljubljana. It serves noodles together with ingredients of your own choosing and everything comes neatly packed in a box. On the outside The Wok looks like an ordinary fast food restaurant, you have a couple of tables and a bar where you order the food. There is another floor above the restaurant where you take your food and eat. The decor inside is quite modern and trendy and I liked it. The part where you order your food can be quite confusing, since you have three columns of ingredients and you can mix those together to find the noodles you like most. After you order you get a receipt with your number and you have to wait for your order.  So we ordered 2 x whole wheat noodles with shrimps and teriyaki sauce. What we received is not what we ordered, so that was the first shock. The...

Book review: Leah Remini's Troublemaker (or Zgaga in Slovenian)

I had this on my list even before it was published and wanted to buy it from the beginning. But then it turned out to be such a huge bestseller that even my small local library got it, so I could borrow it. I was so happy when it was finally in my hands and started reading it the same day. It was a fast read. Maybe a bit strange, because I got translated version and I believe that the original is always better. I know Leah Remini from the sitcom ˝King of Queens˝, which is one of my favorite shows. I always admired her character on the show, because she is a total opposite of me. She has high level of self esteem and is never afraid to tell what she really means. Later I found out that she is similar person in the real life, or even more ˝mean˝. Another thing that was so attractive about this book was of course scientology. I always wanted to know what is happening behind those blue walls of the famous church’s building in L.A. What kind of religion is this? Who from celebrities is inv...

My lipsticks

Today I would like to present you my mini lipstick collection. I prefer lipsticks over glosses, so I don’t own a single lip gloss at this moment. Maybe I’ll change my mind someday. I like nude colors, because I think that a strong lip color doesn’t suit me. I tried with dark browns – you now that popular 90’s style, but I didn’t like it. It made me look strange and old. I prefer natural and ˝fresh˝ colors, which give some life to my face, especially if I look super pale. I also stay away from baby pink lips, because make my not so white teeth even more yellow. Lipstick is the only thing from makeup that I take with me for touch-ups. I’m always afraid that ii will melt down somewhere, so I usually buy more affordable, drugstore products. The average price of my lipstick is around 5€.  1.        Catrice Luminous lipstick – What's an apricot? This light nude/peach color is quite sheer and shiny. The color is buildable but with more layers becomes u...

How to feel better

Maybe I’m not the best person to write about this, but this week I wanted to post something different. I want to share my tips on how to relax and how to feel better when you’re feeling a bit blue.  This is not about how to treat a depression, tensions, anxiety or something like that. It’s just about little sadness, maybe caused by the bad weather, hard day at work or that part of the month (you know what I mean). If it works for me it would not necessary work for you, I just want to give some suggestions. 1. Working out Because of the summer weather I stopped working out and after 10 days or so I started to feel my level of energy dropping. I’m not a workout fanatic, it’s just that exercising makes me feel happier; I can eat more without guilt and my behind looks better. I’m always proud on myself after, because I’ve done something good for myself and if I manage to combine that with healthy eating it’s a win/win situation. The problem here is an occasional (long periodic...
