My lipsticks

Today I would like to present you my mini lipstick collection. I prefer lipsticks over glosses, so I don’t own a single lip gloss at this moment. Maybe I’ll change my mind someday. I like nude colors, because I think that a strong lip color doesn’t suit me. I tried with dark browns – you now that popular 90’s style, but I didn’t like it. It made me look strange and old. I prefer natural and ˝fresh˝ colors, which give some life to my face, especially if I look super pale. I also stay away from baby pink lips, because make my not so white teeth even more yellow. Lipstick is the only thing from makeup that I take with me for touch-ups. I’m always afraid that ii will melt down somewhere, so I usually buy more affordable, drugstore products. The average price of my lipstick is around 5€.

1.       Catrice Luminous lipstick – What's an apricot?
This light nude/peach color is quite sheer and shiny. The color is buildable but with more layers becomes uneven. It’s not very long lasting, so you need to reapply quite often. When applying it gives me that waxy feeling, but it’s not bothering me. It’s not my favorite, but works well, when I need to add some color to my face. It’s more like a lip balm, so you don’t need a mirror to apply. I like the packaging; it is heavy, metal and plastic case and looks expensive.

2.       Catrice Ultimate stay – Rusty's gold & treasure
This is one of my favorites for summer, also my first reddish. It looks best with bronzer. It’s semi matt color I would say, orange/red with golden glitters. It’s a bit drying, but not too much quite long lasting color. It wears off pretty well and even. It comes in sleek classic black case – very elegant.

3.       Revlon – Just bitten kissable lip balm/stain – Darling
Darling is a shiny, sheer, but buildable lilac. The application is very nice and even, it’s comfortable on the lips. It has a minty smell and taste, but it’s not overpowering or tingling. I hate tingly stuff on my sensitive lips. Although this is (was) super popular product, I bought it just recently. It is the most expensive I own, but I justify this with quality. It’s in a twist on/ giant pen packaging which is very practical, but the tip of lipstick doesn’t go inside the pen, so you can ruin it with the cap if you’re not careful. That’s the only negative thing about it. Longevity is quite good, it stains beautifully.

4.       L'oreal Prive collection , celebrity nudes – Frieda's nude
This is my latest purchase and I wear it every day since I got it. I found it on Ebay, because it was not available in my local drugstores. Our market is not overcrowded with makeup. Frieda’s nude is beautiful frosty mauve/brown with lots of silver glitters. But good glitters if you know what I mean. I was afraid it will make me look ˝dead˝, because I couldn’t swatch it anywhere but is very flattering, safe color and I really like it. The packaging looks very high end, it’s rubberized and with golden details. It’s not very long lasting, but ok for my needs. It has a bit of cream taste, typical for all lipsticks from L’oreal, but nothing overpowering.

5.       Wet'n wild megalast – In the flesh
It's the cheapest of all. Lipstick itself is great, a real steal, but the packaging the worst ever. In the flesh is pinky color with some king of red undertones, well I see it like that. It’s is matt, a bit drying, but still comfortable. The formula is very long lasting, the color applies great. In different packaging it would be almost perfect lipstick, but this drives me crazy. At least if I damage it, I wouldn’t bother so much, because it wasn’t expensive. I thought this color will be more in style ˝my lips but better˝, but it’s not. It is actually a bit out of my comfort zone, because it’s quite bright and visible. I like more muted colors, so this is my - believe it or not, statement lipstick.

6.       Rimmel – Vintage pink
Vintage pink is pink (of course it is), violet/mauve color. For a lot of people this is nude, but for me not really. I feel good when I’m wearing it, although it’s violet and not so shy. It is comfortable to wear, moisturizing and quite long lasting. It has a bit shine, what I like. I never wear it to work, but for anywhere else, quite often. The packaging is very beautiful and well made, totally my color. I think it emphasizes my eyes.

7.       Rimmel – Airy fairy
Sadly the last is not the best, but still quite good. Anything I really don’t like, I put away anyway. Airy fairy is frosty pinky/light brown. I like it the best if I put a lip balm under it, the color is a bit softer and it’s much more comfortable on lips. On bare lips can be quite drying and uneven also it sets into lines easily and that doesn’t look good. It also has a strong bubble gum taste and smell, whist lingers for a long time. At least I can feel and smell it. The packaging is nice, typically drugstore. Ok now when I wrote all this I realized that I maybe don’t like it at all…
