Almost perfect: Benefit concealers

It’s been over a year now since I decided to give Benefit a try. This brand is not available in our country, so I was unable to test anything before buying and was only relying on pictures and reviews from the internet. I desperately needed a good, high coverage concealer and it just sounded like this is exactly made for my needs. Benefit  Boi-ing cakeless concealer  was my first and brilliant choice because it is just perfect. It covers my dark circles beautifully, doesn’t emphasize my fine lines, and stays in place for hours. It is easy to blend and you need just a tiny dot for a huge difference. It dries to a mat finish. The first time I ordered shade 04, which is a bit light for me, but somehow I managed to blend it nicely with my foundation. In my second order, I selected shade 05 and it is the right one for me. It actually came in the mini set that also included the travel size of their under-eye setting powder (which is huge by the way). I don’t use this powder v...

Max Factor: Overlooked drugstore gems

I don’t really remember the last time I heard a big fuss about one of Max Factors products on YouTube unless it was clearly a paid promotion. None of my friends is using it, they’re loyal to other brands. But why? Max Factor is affordable, has an amazing quality, and also a long tradition. Is marketing their problem? Anyway, it’s a shame.  Today I want to show you face products I own from them and I think they are truly really good and worth trying. Let’s get started! Mastertouch all-day concealer  – the first time I tried this was about five years ago and it has been a staple in my drawer ever since. It comes in only three different shades, but I’m lucky enough that two of them are suitable for me, depends on the season we are in. Currently, I own the medium shade 306 FAIR and it is too dark for me, so I’ll be using it during the summer. The concealer comes in once a very stylish and popular twisting pen, with a tiny sponge at the end. It is not super functional, because you ...

Narciso Rodriguez: Poudree

Honestly, I’ve been deliberately avoiding this line of fragrances for a long time, because I was afraid of his theirs signature musky notes. I have very bad experiences with musk. It is often too strong, boring, causes me headaches, and dominates like the fragrance is wearing me and not the opposite. A few months ago I started craving powdery scents and begun my research. Poudree was mentioned so many times as something the most beautiful and cozy that I just had to give it a try. I bought it in late November and it has been my daily work companion ever since. I just love it so much. At first, I get very strong, sharp, and almost unpleasant musk, combined with, I believe, jasmine. The first impression is just awful. Something that you smelled so many times before, especially if you shared a seat on a train with an old lady. Thankfully, after some time, it settles into a quieter, warm, and slightly sweet composition. At the dry down, I get that highly anticipated creaminess with some po...
