Artdeco: Mission Ruby Rose eye palette review

The holiday season is a great time for companies to release their limited edition palettes that are very suitable for gifting or just treating yourself to something new… and sparkly. This little gem comes from Artdeco and has a very appealing name –  Mission Ruby Rose. It contains eight eye shadows: two mattes, two satin, and four metallics. The pigmentation varies from shade to shade, which is very usual for the brand. Their products can be either a hit or a miss. Metallics are highly pigmented and just stunning, but full of shimmer, so be prepared for that. Luckily that glitter did not fall all over my face, but it made me nervous during the day… Those shades would be perfect for glamorous looks. The same thing is with mattes, although they are not so ˝loud˝, but can be easily build up. They are very buttery and easy to blend. The satin ones were a disappointment. They provide just a hint of color and are too bright for my taste. Overall it is a solid drugstore palette to add som...

Shiny diamonds - Color lip shine by Artdeco

Is not the most ideal time for wearing lip products because we need to wear face masks very often, but anyway. Lipsticks have some kind of iconic position in our makeup bags and we are not ready to ˝skip them˝, not even during the pandemic. My long-term favorites from so called higher drugstore are  color lip shine  lipsticks from  Artdeco.  They are some kind of hybrid between lipstick and gloss and have been around for quite a few years now. Their formula is super comfortable, non-sticky, very shiny, and long-lasting. You can apply them as sheer pop of color or upgrade to a bolder shade. For my taste, they are ideal, I just wish there were more shades available in our country. S hiny diamonds (85) -  was originally released last summer as a limited edition shade, and you can purchase it online, I am not sure if it is still available in drugstores. On my lips, it shows up as sheer, cool pink with purple glitter, but from the packaging looks like it has q...

Products for creating fresh&simple weekend look

Well hello there! Hope you are having a great time. The weekend is quickly approaching and I decided to show you my top makeup products for creating that fresh and simple look for my free time. The rule is: Less is more unless when it comes to highlighters 😊 I just love highlighters and some glow always boosts my mood. Base I don’t use foundations or BB creams during the weekend, because I like to give my skin a break. For a more even and polished look, I use a good old  Porefessional primer from Benefit . It keeps my T-zone away from being too shinny and hides my pores a bit. Concealer is a must, I always like to hide my dark circles. This is a crucial step for a more rested look for me (and cooling under-eye gel patches). My current favorite is from  Mastertouch from Max Factor. Cheeks I am still obsessed with  Dior’s gel glow stick  blush. When this baby goes bad I’m going to finally buy their iconic Rosy glow powder blush. It is very hard to choose which highlig...

New things ready

Hello! After some break from blogging and  summer vacation I'm back with a shopping list (great start, a?) of things that recently caught my eye. Of course there is always something that we would like to buy, but at the end, what do we really need? Everything! Right now! :) I made some fashion and makeup selection, there are also books and some great smelling threats for upcoming fall. So let's get started! I need to confess that I love books, but actually don't read that much. It's a pleasure to own and look at them, but there's never ´the right time´ to read ... Anyway, currently there are two on my list. One is about Marily Monroe's life in a New York after she took a break from Holywood and the other is about social problem of loneliness in a big city. Both have good reviews and are highly recommended. So check out  Marilyn in New York by Elizabeth Winder  and  The Lonely City by Olivia Laing, both avaiable on  Book Depository . Let's co...

Artdeco Multi stick in no. 02 - light caramel

Artdeco just recently launched their multifunctional sticks called ˝Multi sticks˝ . They come in 5 different shades of brown and 1 in rose mauve. They can be used for highlighting, contouring or concealing. You can also use them as lipstick, blush or even eyeshadow. I bought the second lightest shade 02- light caramel , mainly to be used as concelaer. It is more orange-brown. The third shade was way too dark; the first one seemed to be too light. I have bad experiences with stick concelaers, but this is surprisingly good. Just this color turned out to be a bit dark for me just now, but I think it will be great after some sunny days. This is super creamy, not dry at all and can be blended very easily and evenly, even with circular motions. I didn’t notice any shimmer in it or color reflecting parts, but still it doesn’t look dull on face at all. The coverage is light to medium. I try to upgrade it and brightening the color with liquid concelaer on top and that went...

Holographic makeup trend

I'm a huge fan of everything sparkling. When I see shiny things, I’m like a kid in a candy store. They are like magnet to my eyes. Sparkling things in makeup can be scary and over the top. I mean they look gorgeous, but can be wearable? Truly wearable for daily use? Yes they can! Holographic trend has been strongly present in fashion and beauty industry for some time now. I lately spot it mostly on accessories and all ranges of makeup. It’s not just for teenage girls anymore, we also see it in makeup for ˝grown up’s˝. I recently bought two holographic makeup items. First one was truly love at first sight; I bought it immediately when I saw it. My dreams finally came true, they made lavender highlighter! This is actually highlighting duo from Makeup factory named ˝Holographic illusion powder˝ and was part of holiday collection presented back in December. It might be made for holidays, but also for soft spring looks.  It contains violet (lilac dimension...

Artdeco: Full precision lipstick in no.40 "Mellow mauve"

I'm guilty of buying another lipstick and again it comes from Artdeco – Full precision lipstick in ˝Mellow mauve˝ . It looks like they are my sponsor, I own a lot from them, but trust me, they’re not. This lipstick is advertised as the most precise one in the world – bold advertising. Let me just tell you at the beginning that it’s not. At least if you have thinner lips like me. Or I’m just too clumsy, could be. Full pre ision lipstick is very thin, thinner than Rimmel’s gel lipsticks. It has triangular shape and contains only 1g of product. I paid a lot for this 1g, 12,95€. It bothers me that the lippie is not entirely stored into packaging, but the top of it stays outside, so you can easily ruin it. Think on Wet n Wild lipsticks. I find it difficult to apply it. If I apply it in classic way, then it’s too wide for my lips and crosses my lip line somehow. I need to be very careful, it’s not that easy. Maybe I will get used to it. Also I don’t really like the colo...

Artdeco: Crystal and Amazing effect mascaras

Artdeco become my favorite ˝drugstore˝ brand. They have high quality products with good ingredients and their production in based in Germany. I think I got rid of all ˝Made in China˝ makeup and decided to avoid some brands in big circle. Quality over quantity – that is my motto for this year. I want to reduce the number of my makeup products and be a selective and not impulsive buyer. Anyway let me show you two of my recent purchases (there were quite a few) from Artdeco.  Crystal mascara&liner ˝Onyx Glamour˝ First I saw Crystal lash mascara top coat from Estee Lauder and got excited as kid, but that one is expensive and always sold out. Then I saw that Artdeco has something similar and could be a great and cheaper (half that price) dupe for Estee, but sadly I was wrong. This is transparent mascara/liner with black and silver shimmer. You could use it alone or as top coat over your favorite mascara to add some sparkle. The product looks great on lashes;...

Winter wish list

I created a smaller list of things that caught my eye recently and I would like to own them. OK not all of them, but mostly for sure.I planned this post for a long time and was very interesting to observe how quickly my list was changing. Rare things stay the same and for those I'm sure that I really want. (Stradivarius) Checks are really popular this season, also flower embroidery which I adore so much. I found scarf which combines both and I think it will be a trendy addition to my look. I'm not trying to be fashionable, but always buy what I like. This year in great for me, because I'm in love with old fashion and classic patterns. (sweater Orsay, shirt Stradivarius, gloves Stradivarius) Let's move a story from before on a next level. Flower embroidery shirt gives somehow that 70s vibe, but because it's on black background somehow looks modern and not your grandma table clot boring. Gloves would be a great match to a third scarf from above, if...

Artdeco mat lip powder in ˝Spring day nr. 20˝

They came out last Monday and were on my big disappointment sold out till' Thursday. Restocked on Friday, so I managed to buy one on Saturday – I’m talking about new mat cushion powder lipsticks from Artdeco . I never thought they will become so desirable between costumers in a small town like mine. Maybe they put just some products on display for starter. Anyway I got my ˝copy˝ and I’m super happy with it. Powder cushion lipsticks are not entirely new products, just newer for our market. We didn’t get the L’oreal ones which are quite similar, but we do have a cheaper, some kind of gloss version from Catrice. They don’t work on the same way, but do have cushion applicator. It took me quite some time to decide if I really want to try these or not, because they are expensive for a drugstore item, the cost around 13€. Artdeco is anyway in some middle price range, but their quality is mostly really good. My new ˝Spring day˝ lipstick is from their newest spring ...
