Products for creating fresh&simple weekend look

Well hello there! Hope you are having a great time. The weekend is quickly approaching and I decided to show you my top makeup products for creating that fresh and simple look for my free time. The rule is: Less is more unless when it comes to highlighters 😊 I just love highlighters and some glow always boosts my mood. Base I don’t use foundations or BB creams during the weekend, because I like to give my skin a break. For a more even and polished look, I use a good old  Porefessional primer from Benefit . It keeps my T-zone away from being too shinny and hides my pores a bit. Concealer is a must, I always like to hide my dark circles. This is a crucial step for a more rested look for me (and cooling under-eye gel patches). My current favorite is from  Mastertouch from Max Factor. Cheeks I am still obsessed with  Dior’s gel glow stick  blush. When this baby goes bad I’m going to finally buy their iconic Rosy glow powder blush. It is very hard to choose which highlig...

Hits and mises from Erborian

Welcome to my blog! This week I want to share my experience with Erborian. This is a Korean beauty brand tightly collaborating with French skincare experts and its main mission is to create innovative products for perfect and healthy-looking skin. I heard so many great things about them, so when it finally became quite widely available in our country, I just had to give it a try. The first product I bought was  Bamboo matte cream  - I would call this a basic moisturizer for oily and combination skin (like mine) that gives a long-lasting mattifying effect with enough hydration. It leaves your skin fresh and more even. It is slightly scented, but the scent is not disturbing and goes away quickly. I would say, this is great only for hot weather, but otherwise, it can be too light. Unless your skin is really oily. I believe it is light enough to be used with your SPF. It does not mattify my T-zone through the whole day, but it never leaves me super oily, just shiny. I would buy th...

Picture perfect little helpers from Logitech: keyboard K380 and Pebble M350 mouse

This purchase was not really planned and surely not necessary. It was more in the good old ˝Instagram made me do it˝ way. But I don’t regret it, because I really like my new little ˝co-workers˝. I’ll just do a quick list of pros and cons and it will be made from a completely amateur’s point of view.  Logitech K380 keyboard, price 40€ PROS Compact Made out of quality plastic Great for carrying around Can connect up to three devices with easy transition Quiet typing and comfortable Attractive design I also like the fact that I can sit further from my laptop screen. CONS I had some problems getting used to engraved letters   Pebble M350 mouse, price 22€ PROS Can be connected through Bluetooth or USB Very quiet Nice design Made out of quality materials Easy for carrying around CONS Often needs more time to connect via Bluetooth Slower than my older M220 This is a great and affordable choice for work on the go (library perfection) and maybe younger, less demanding users. For extens...

Yankee candle: Coconut rice cream

Coconut rice cream – the only candle that got my attention from the entire ˝The last paradise collection˝ . Reading its description sounded almost dreamy. I love the combination of coconut, rice, and cream? I am not a huge fan of tropical scents, but food and spice related are my favorite. I ordered a medium-sized jar because I go through small candles quite quickly and I wanted to enjoy this for a longer time. Happy with my purchase? Not really. I burned this candle for about 4 hours in total and all I can smell is light sandalwood and mostly wax. Maybe if I get super, almost (lashes&eyebrows) dangerously close, I can get a hint of coconut sweetness, but that’s about it. It reminds me of a very classic perfume or an air freshener that is most commonly used in fancy stores. I would say that the throw is medium and not overpowering. I am quite disappointed with this candle, and still, silently hope that it turns into creamy delight… somehow.

Yankee candle Elevation: Rose hibiscus for spring 2021

I saw  rose hibiscus  between upcoming releases for 2021 months ago and it immediately caught my attention. I was just using hibiscus scented shower gel at that time and really liked it. Anyway, when it finally appeared on our Yankee candle website I just had to have it as soon as possible. Did it meet my expectations? Yes! First of all, I love the Elevation line, it is so elegant and just pretty to look at. I was skeptical about the strength of the scent of three wicked candle (it is the only size available here) because my room is not that big and am I prone to headaches. Burning just one wick at a time solves the problem and this candle will last me forever. And finally, how does it smell like? Like strawberries, mixed with slightly tropical florals. It is mostly fruity, but also floral and fresh. Not too sweet or overpowering, just right and pleasant. Highly recommended!

HELLO spring!

It is time for another collage of items that recently caught my eye. We could name this mini selection some kind of spring edition. Let’s start! Fuchsia tailored blazer from Zara – is looks stunning and comes also in a few other shades, but this is my top color. I adore bright pieces, but usually don’t wear them, because I never want to stand out. Chicken, right? I know… Floral midi shirt dress by Primark – I actually bought this last week and I love it. I haven’t worn it yet, it is still too cold outside, but I hope I can do that soon. It washed beautifully, almost without wrinkling, it is made out of 100% viscose, which is pleasant to wear. I’m planning to upgrade it with a belt, to add more flattering structure. Great and affordable romantic piece to upgrade your spring style. I recently heard that spring is not all about florals, but I just crave floral pattern. Chunky short cardigan by Mango – these cardigans are so cute, but not necessarily appropriate for my body type. ...

OPI: Destined to be a legend

Two previous collections from OPI were a total miss for me, absolutely nothing caught my eye. But this time, when we were invited to  Hollywood . I had an instant crush at one shade only –  Destined to be a legend. This beautiful cream, mid-toned blue, with hints of gray is just so inviting. It is not revolutionary but was definitely lacking in my nail polish drawer. I own some blues, but they are brighter. It is good to step away from that traditional spring pink colors and just wear something different. * I did two coats I like that is bright enough not to be boring, but still sophisticated enough to be worn for work. I feel great wearing this blue because it is such ˝my˝ color - I often wear blue clothes. The formula is great as always: thin, buildable, and fast-drying. It is not super long-lasting, but I remove my polish every three days anyway, so that’s fine with me.  It didn’t stain my nails, which is great.  If I’m not mistaken, the next stop for us, OPI love...

Naya Rivera: Sorry not sorry - dreams, mistakes, and growing up

After a long time, here’s another book review. As I mentioned before, I am sadly mostly just a holiday or Sunday reader. I would like to read more, but after spending so many hours in front of the screen at work, my eyes deserve some time off. Here’s another sad admission – I did not know who Naya Rivera was before she had that tragic accident. I heard about Glee, of course, but never watch it. I thought this was something for teenagers and musical parts are just not for me. Here pictures were everywhere, she was absolutely stunning and I become curious about her life and career. Right after her death, her book was sold out and almost impossible to order. When I finally got a notification that it got back in stock it made me super excited and I bought it immediately.  Her way of writing is interesting, flowy, and with a lot of humor and great talent. Sometimes she uses slang which contributes to the dynamic of the text. At the end of each chapter, there are always two lists: one fo...
