OPI: For What It's Earth - Nature strong collection

Hello there and happy Tuesday! I hope you survived yesterday – statistically the most depressing Monday of the year. But that thing is over, so let’s optimistically move on now. OPI finally went into ˝healthier˝ waters and created their first line of natural origin vegan nail lacquers. This line is huge, because they created 30 new shades, so you should be able to find something for yourself. In my country Slovenia, this line is available only online and in a few nail salons and it is quite pricy – 13,90 €. For start, I picked only one shade, but I will surely order more. For What It’s Earth  is a neutral earthy pink shade. This one caught my attention immediately because I have nothing similar at this moment. It looks pink under sunlight and more brown-ish under artificial lights. It is one-coater for sure, but I always do two coats, so it can last longer. The wearing time is average for OPI, not the best, but still good enough. I never wear a topcoat, because I love to change my ...

OPI: Destined to be a legend

Two previous collections from OPI were a total miss for me, absolutely nothing caught my eye. But this time, when we were invited to  Hollywood . I had an instant crush at one shade only –  Destined to be a legend. This beautiful cream, mid-toned blue, with hints of gray is just so inviting. It is not revolutionary but was definitely lacking in my nail polish drawer. I own some blues, but they are brighter. It is good to step away from that traditional spring pink colors and just wear something different. * I did two coats I like that is bright enough not to be boring, but still sophisticated enough to be worn for work. I feel great wearing this blue because it is such ˝my˝ color - I often wear blue clothes. The formula is great as always: thin, buildable, and fast-drying. It is not super long-lasting, but I remove my polish every three days anyway, so that’s fine with me.  It didn’t stain my nails, which is great.  If I’m not mistaken, the next stop for us, OPI love...

Zoya: Godiva

I recently wear a lot of nude nail polishes. I’m on some kind of break of strong winter colors and slowly preparing for bolder spring/summer shades. To be honest, nude polishes can be boring sometimes. I sometimes give them some life with glittery top coat. But when softer shade already contains shimmer, can be just perfect. This is one of those. I saw Godiva when it first came out in 2013, but never had a chance to buy it. For its substitution I managed to get extra glittery, also pixie dust ¨Bar¨, but it wasn’t really that wearable. A few weeks ago I spot it on Ebay for reasonable price and immediately bought it. I must say I’m very happy with my purchase. It is a bit different from other pixie dust polishes I own. It is ˝softer˝ and doesn’t catch on my clothes (pantyhose approved). I find it also easier to remove and less stinky when applying and drying, which is a big plus. Let’s go to basics. Godiva comes from Zoya and is in pixie dust formula, which means that i...

Zoya - Beth

It's my favorite season, great for wearing deep nail colors and bolder fragrances, but sometimes you just need a little ˝color break˝ and use something light and universal. I’m talking about my nude nail color, which is not that typical, nude actually. Her name is Beth. She is elegant, sophisticated, but never boring. Beth is from new Zoya’s collection for autumn, called Sophisticated. I would describe it as golden beige frosted color. I was afraid it would have that metallic effect, but it doesn’t. Some said that it’s streaky, but to me it doesn’t seem like. And I’m not a professional nail painter and can be very clumsy. Beth is safe choice for every occasion. It is ˝special˝ enough to be on your nails during holiday season. The formula is quite long lasting and I have a feeling that it doesn’t stink as much as my other polishes while application. Maybe it’s because Zoya belongs to safer, healthier nail polish brands. I usually hate frosted colors, but this is a bright e...

Nail polishes for Autumn part 2

Here's the second part of my selection of nail polish colors for fall. Previous post was dedicated just to OPI, this one we'll filled up with two other brands. Zoya is my second favorite nail polish. I love it, because it's less toxic and has a great selection of colors. I adore their texture polishes, named PixieDust, but they are horrible to remove. Well, nothing is perfect I guess.Their brushes are quite ok, but on forums I read that their formula can sometimes be too thick and hard to dry. I haven't experienced that yet, but if I do, I'll let you know. Enough of chatting, let's get to business. My selection from Zoya is from their Naturel deux collection from 2014. They both have cream formula and supposed to be a bit on the thicker side. I must admit that this turns me off a bit. It would be a shame to spent around 10-12€ on a bad polish. But how will I know if it's bad if I don't try and the colors are gorgeous. Marnie I would describe...

Nail polishes for Autumn part 1

Hello! I’m so happy that the weekend is almost here and that the weather outside will get a bit cooler, because it was hard to work in such conditions.  I’m not so lucky to be in modern office with good air condition, we mostly just improvise with draft. It’s not a surprise that I think about colder days, so today I decided to combine my two favorite things: fall and nail polish. I went through tons of pictures on the internet and made some picks of really beautiful autumnal nail polishes. The problem was how to capture the real shade of a polish. Different lights, conditions, cameras, outdoor, indoor places and the color look completely different. I hope these pictures represent the shades in their best way and hope you’ll like them too. I don’t own any of these polishes just yet, because the decision of choosing just one is so difficult. And again, I don’t need another nail polish. Or do I? Let’s begin with my favorite brand, OPI. I love their thin formula, because it dri...
