Petrichor Beauty - reviews, style and overthinking

Hello there and welcome to my site! Today I would like to share my thought about the latest OPI nail polish that I bought – Right as rain, from the Nature strong collection, which was released last year. This is my second polish from the line and because I was super satisfied with my first one, I also had high hopes for this shade. The thing is, I am not as happy with this one, but let’s start at the beginning. Right as rain  is really stunning grey dusty purple color. I find it quite unique and have nothing to compare against it right now. I would label it as a typical shade for fall, because it is so dark, but of course, it is perfect for anytime you wish. Maybe I got older or badly stored lacquer, but the formula of this one is not super thin as I’m used to. It is a bit thicker, so it also needs more time to dry. A combination of dark blue, white, and gold has always been a favorite of mine. it is traditionally used on usually more expensive fine china, old school plates and vases represent a strong tradition and exquisite taste. But this combination also looks superbly in fashion. Here is my casual, but elegant suggestion how to combine these three elements and achieving fresh, modern look. I believe that the backpack and trendy platforms add some softness and extra casualty to the whole outfit, because this dress can act quite elegant and even too strong if worn with different accesories. This one comes in the perfect shade of green and the whole combination with white makes the whole look super fresh and clean. A white T-shirt and white sneakers are always a great foundation for any casual outfit, calling for endless combinations and styles. For a little pop of color, I selected yet another returning trend from the last year - a chain bag. Not my favorite form, I must admit but looks great and youthful.

In the past few years, a regular workout routine became an important part of my well-being. I am not super fit and don’t even look sporty, but I like my cardio ˝me˝ time and consequently feel so much better. I usually sweat on my elliptical three times per week and here is my simple after workout skincare routine: Makeup removing and cleansing   Loreal: Rare flowers cleansing gel Nivea: Two phased eye makeup remower with cornflower Foreo: Luna Mini 2   Honestly, I hate this part, but it is necessary. I love applying makeup in the morning, but removing it is so boring. Anyway, for my eye makeup, I like to use two-phased micellar eye makeup removers with oils. These are the best, especially for potential glittery parts, but can feel heavy on eyelashes. They create that annoying coat, so I like to wash that off with my second cleanser.  Although my T-zone can be super oily, I like to use cleansers for sensitive and dry skin, because I found them so much more comfortable ...

I never really wanted to try setting, finishing, or fixing sprays, because I don’t believe in them. My skin can simply be too oily and there are only a few products that can overcome that. But I do love face mists a lot, especially in the summer mornings and after my workout. To get to the point – this was on sale, it is coconut scented and I just had to try it.  Prep and Prime Fix + by Mac is a light moisturizing face mist, enriched with glycerin and fruit extracts. It can also help to improve the look of your makeup by taking away that powdery finish and making it look more natural. I can not talk about that part, because I’ve been using this strictly as a refreshing face mist and I love it like that. The scent of it is just divine and super pleasant (it is not that fake one) and it doesn’t last long, so don’t worry about the compatibility of the scents from your other products. Finally, the new spring/summer collection from OPI, called Xbox arrived in our drugstores. It was about time. But better later than never, right? The selection of colors is dynamic, optimistic, and vibrant. I love it as a whole, it is one of my favorites for a long time. My drawer is full of bolder colors, so I wanted something softer and more neutral.  Quest for Quartz  is soft, dusty pink with subtle silver shimmer. If my memory is correct, it reminds me of my beloved shade  My very first knockwurst,  but that one was a bit deeper and without glittery parts.   I must say, I was a bit disappointed by the formula. It is a bit thicker than usual. Like when you’re applying older nail polish. And it was a bit harder to distribute it evenly. It is not a complete miss but requires some extra attention. Anyway, it is a very pretty shade and I’m happy that I got it. This one is perfect for soft manicures with shimmery touch.

It is such a great feeling when your parcel finally arrives and if that happens on Friday, it’s even better! Today I want to show you my mini Notino haul. There are ˝only˝ three items, but that doesn’t mean that it is less important. I just wanted to slightly refresh my beauty drawer and treat myself to something new. A few weeks ago, I tested La Nuit Tresor Nude by Lancome at the drugstore and fell in love immediately. It is sweet but fresh, fruity, and slightly tropical. It is something that I’m missing in my fragrance wardrobe and is certainly a great choice for the upcoming spring and summer months. I bought the smallest bottle because I own so many fragrances already. Prep and Prime Fix + face mist by Mac – coconut scented. I don’t know how useful will this be for setting my makeup, but I love the idea of a cold and refreshing coconut splash on my face. And it was on sale, which is a huge plus.
