Urban Decay - Afterglow blush in ˝Bittersweet˝

As I mentioned in my previous post that it was hard to find lavender highlighter, it was also a bit challenging to find true, cool toned violet blush. Maybe I’ve got specific taste for colors in makeup. I wanted a blush, that won’t transfer into pink on my cheeks, but would stay violet. Our local drugstores are such lonely places when you’re searching for something special, like I’m looking for ice cubes in a desert. Hopefully there might be soon some change on a horizon. Yes, violet blushes do exist in our country, but for hideous price. Something very beautiful I found between YSL products, but I’m not flying that high. Very good colors (more magenta, pink and mauve like) are also between Illamasqua blushes, but if I’m going to splurge on a blush, I’m looking for perfection. When I first saw ˝Bittersweet˝ online I thought that this is such a crazy, hard to wear color. It’s definitely not for a shy girl with pale cheeks and not for an everyday wear. Just take me to circus, ho...

NYX Illuminating stick ˝Lavender lust˝ & similar options

Now, when summer days are far behind us and my skin is not super shiny anymore, I’m so much more enthusiastic about highlighting. I got rid of my Makeup Revolution highlighter, because it was just not for my skin tone. I mean it looked beautiful, but I found that I like cool toned highlighters so much more. It’s no secret I believe, that I adore lavender shades and my big wish was to find a true lilac highlighter. As I discovered during my search, this is not so easy to find. There are some great, but expensive and for me unavailable options. Shipping costs and conditions to my country can be just silly. Then I found NYX illuminating stick in ˝Lavender lust˝ , which came out in July if I’m not mistaken. I never heard of this before, because here, NYX is not so popular. Their products are mostly sold in web shops and in limited selection. The first real NYX shop was open just a few days ago in Zagreb, Croatia (35km from my town), but I don’t know how many different items they offer...

Book review: Jennifer Lopez - True love

This is not typical celebrity autobiography. It’s a story about healing a broken heart after yet another divorce, self discovery and creating a world tour. I’m not the biggest fan of Jennifer, maybe because of her turbulent love life. It’s not nice from me, but deep down inside I believed, that after so many breakouts, must be something wrong with her. She is clearly not capable to be with somebody, also might be bossy and always in center of attention, because of her fame. But somehow trough her story, she almost fully convinced me, that I was wrong. After divorcing Marc Anthony she felt depressed, lost and hit the rock bottom. But after some time she realized that she needs major changes in her life. Her mission was to find herself, accepting challenges and doing things she has never done before – going on her first world tour. Jennifer is describing the process of making her big music show and at the same time process of her healing with major help of her m...

Dolce&Gabanna - Pour Femme 2012

This fragrance was first blind buy for me, based on reviews from Fragrantica.com and a successful one, because I felt in love instantly. I bought it two years ago, just when I started with my new job, so this milestone was a great excuse for me to buy myself a new perfume. I never tried the original version of pour femme from the 90s, so I can’t make any comparisons, but this supposed to be something totally different and more modern. With its sweetness it supposed to attract younger buyers and I also believe that it suits them more, but this is of course matter of personal taste, not age. Top notes: neroli, raspberry, mandarin orange Middle notes: jasmine, orange blossom Base notes: marshmallow, vanilla, heliotrope, sandalwood Pour femme is described as floral, but I would say it’s far from being a typically floral. Marshmallow note assures it some powderness and sweetness and gives it gourmand touch. It would say it is dominating note along with hint of mandarins ...

˝Want to try˝ list

I don’t need a new fragrance of course, but there’s always some kind of list. Mine is called ˝When is use up… I will buy…˝. Sounds familiar? I just bought myself mini fragrance from Marc Jacobs a few days ago and a full bottle of Black Opium in September, so no more for me this year. Yves Sain Lurent – Mon Paris (2016, chypre fruity) Top notes Strawberry, raspberry, pear, Calabrian bergamont, calone, orange, tangerine Middle notes Datura, peony, orange blossom, jasmine sambac, Chinese jasmine Base notes Indonesian patchouli leaf, white musk, ambroxan, patchouli, cedar, moss, vanilla Fragrantica.com Based on notes and reviews I doubt I will like it, but the bottle is just so gorgeous that I need to give it a try. Maybe this sounds very shallow and childish, but the packaging is almost as important as product itself. And yes I often judge book by its covers. Mon Paris is not in our stores yet, but it supposed to come by the end of this month, so I’m excited...

Artdeco Camouflage Cream 03 - Iced Coffee

It’s official; I'm the worst at picking up a corrector for blemishes. Last week I had a huge, I mean a huge zit on my forehead, just terrible. And because I rarely have this kind of breakouts, I don’t own a proper makeup to cover it. I only use brightener/concelear to lightly cover my under eye area and that’s of course not suitable for covering imperfections on the rest parts of my face. It’s too light and bright and it just makes them more noticeable. So last Saturday I went to an urgent hunt for a thick corrector to cover the ˝big joy˝ on my forehead. My first intention was to buy a camouflage cream from Artdeco, because it has brilliant reviews. But when I saw all that shades – I believe there were 10 of them to choose from, I get confused and went away to another counter. Big mistake was made because, I bought too light concelear palette. Now it’s a property of new owner, who hopefully enjoys using it. The next day I made another desperate visit to the drugstore. This t...
