Urban Decay - Afterglow blush in ˝Bittersweet˝

As I mentioned in my previous post that it was hard to find lavender highlighter, it was also a bit challenging to find true, cool toned violet blush. Maybe I’ve got specific taste for colors in makeup. I wanted a blush, that won’t transfer into pink on my cheeks, but would stay violet. Our local drugstores are such lonely places when you’re searching for something special, like I’m looking for ice cubes in a desert. Hopefully there might be soon some change on a horizon.

Yes, violet blushes do exist in our country, but for hideous price. Something very beautiful I found between YSL products, but I’m not flying that high. Very good colors (more magenta, pink and mauve like) are also between Illamasqua blushes, but if I’m going to splurge on a blush, I’m looking for perfection.

When I first saw ˝Bittersweet˝ online I thought that this is such a crazy, hard to wear color. It’s definitely not for a shy girl with pale cheeks and not for an everyday wear. Just take me to circus, honey!

Ok, let’s be serious. Deep, but still vivid cool toned violet looks scary in the pan and is super pigmented. I just gently tap on it with a fluffy blush and apply on the cheeks. I actually bought brush from Balea just for this blush – crazy I know. Color goes on softly; it’s buildable and easy to blend. It provides a bit unique flushed look which I love so much. You need to be careful with application, because it is so pigmented. The color is matte and looks natural, glitters would just make it artificial. Blush is very long lasting, but easy to remove with a gentle cleanser.

The packaging is mostly made from quality, firm plastic. Top part is I believe metal and shows up your fingerprints beautifully. It is shaped in some kind of industrial style and gives a feeling that is made of steel.  Case does not include mirror, but I don’t find that micro mirrors useful anyway. I bought my version of ˝Afterglow˝ blush on Feelunique.com for 24€, this is my first product from Urban Decay and I absolutely don’t regret buying it.
