Artdeco mat lip powder in ˝Spring day nr. 20˝

They came out last Monday and were on my big disappointment sold out till' Thursday. Restocked on Friday, so I managed to buy one on Saturday – I’m talking about new mat cushion powder lipsticks from Artdeco. I never thought they will become so desirable between costumers in a small town like mine. Maybe they put just some products on display for starter. Anyway I got my ˝copy˝ and I’m super happy with it.

Powder cushion lipsticks are not entirely new products, just newer for our market. We didn’t get the L’oreal ones which are quite similar, but we do have a cheaper, some kind of gloss version from Catrice. They don’t work on the same way, but do have cushion applicator. It took me quite some time to decide if I really want to try these or not, because they are expensive for a drugstore item, the cost around 13€. Artdeco is anyway in some middle price range, but their quality is mostly really good.

My new ˝Spring day˝ lipstick is from their newest spring collection called Hypnotic blossom (that so reminds me on Dior). Powder lipsticks are available in 6 shades, mine is the most natural looking one. It is truly my lips but better, orange nude,  strictly mat color. Very appropriate for work and quite long lasting. I was afraid that this powder will feel super dry and uncomfortable, but it is not. I mean I feel it on my lips, but it’s not bothering me. It also contains oils for some hydration. I haven’t detached any smell, just very mild, typical makeup/powder taste. It’s a strange feeling, which I’m not used to, somehow powdery and silky at the same time. I really like it and you can’t overdue with this color. Spring day looks very natural.

It is interesting that the product itself is in a cap and not in the holder. I truly don’t have experiences with this cushions stuff. I somehow thought that the color comes from the applicator like with glosses. I’m not sure how will this behave in summer. Can mostly powder contained product also melt in the car? Probably somehow it can, but harder than standard lipstick I believe. Application is fun, comfortable, fast and even. You can’t swipe it around for good results, just tap on the lips. Color is buildable and also supposed to be appropriate for ombre effect if you’re into that.

Oh and my next cushion wish? Over praised Juicy shaker from Lancome, but I’m not sure just yet.
