Honestly, I’ve been deliberately avoiding this line of fragrances for a long time, because I was afraid of his theirs signature musky notes. I have very bad experiences with musk. It is often too strong, boring, causes me headaches, and dominates like the fragrance is wearing me and not the opposite.
A few months ago I started craving powdery scents and begun my research. Poudree was mentioned so many times as something the most beautiful and cozy that I just had to give it a try. I bought it in late November and it has been my daily work companion ever since. I just love it so much.
At first, I get very strong, sharp, and almost unpleasant musk, combined with, I believe, jasmine. The first impression is just awful. Something that you smelled so many times before, especially if you shared a seat on a train with an old lady. Thankfully, after some time, it settles into a quieter, warm, and slightly sweet composition. At the dry down, I get that highly anticipated creaminess with some powdery feeling and hint of sweetness.
It is very elegant, classy and doesn’t stand out. Currently, this is my favorite work fragrance, because it gives me that comforting feeling. It is like a familiar hug, something that you know for a long time.
Now, when the weather gets warmer is can sometimes be too strong and overwhelming, so It’s time to put it away for some months. Don’t be fooled by the color, it is not that soft and innocent. The pink bottle is just so simple, heavy, and just stunning. The only thing that bothers me is that I can’t see through the glass and find out how much of the fragrance is left.
List of the notes:
