I love food, but one the same time, I'm constantly on some kind of diet.
It’s complicated to explain. My problem is that sometimes I don’t really know
how to control myself. On those days my motto is: If you screw, just screw it
till’ the end. Is this how you say it? And there are also other kinds of days –
good ones. Then I try to eat healthy and ˝clean˝. I’m some kind of bipolar
eater. Hope you understand what I’m trying to say. My general rule is not to
stash any junk food at home. When I crave for example sweets, I buy them in
smaller number and eat mostly the same day. I’m still trying to limit my
overeating sessions and it’s getting better every year.
Currently I’m in my healthy eating/exercising mode. It’s some kind of
obvious, because it’s January, right? I want to present you my guilty
pleasures, or saying in different way, which food makes me happy for a short
period of time. It’s always the same circle: craving – happiness – regret – sadness.
These are my current favorites. I have special moment when I want
specific things like waffles, pancakes, pizza, garlic bread or potato chips...
I’m getting hungry. Some years ago my to-go chocolate was white KItKat and
white chocolate in general. I use to eat a jar of hazelnut cream a week. I just
took a spoon and dive right in. Ok then I had major overeating problems. I used
to store my food in closet in my room and hide myself when eating.
Milka chocolate – milk chocolate from Germany, it can be
bought in every grocery store. It comes in numerous variations and sizes. My
favorite is ˝Bubbly˝ white version. Chocolate with white, milky filling and
some air relief inside its kind of porous or aerated to be more exact. Very
good, it reminds of another classic Kinder chocolate, which is quite similar. I
also like Milka with liquid caramel, or caramel and peanuts. The one with biscuits
and cream is also very good. The only one I truly dislike is the one with strawberries.
Raffaello pralines – (dramatization) coconut escape which
transfers you to another world. This pralines come from Fererro (the same as
Fererro Rocher, which I don’t really like) factory from Italy I think. They can
also be bought almost anywhere, but are more expensive. Not overly expensive
though. The smallest packaging is around 3€, small Milka bar costs from 90cents
on. Rafaello pralines are composed of bleached almond on centre, surrounded by
milky cream and covered with thin waffle coat and coconut flour. Masterpiece!
It was my favorite treat during recent holidays.

Cakes – my favorite place to eat cakes and other
goodies is cake shop Zvezda in Ljubljana. I won’t eat just any cake! I hate
fruity ones and can’t stand sour taste or that smelly possibly yoghurt in them.
Also too chocolaty cakes can be too heavy and truly monsters for my stomach and
later attitude. My favorite cakes are the ones which include coconut, peanuts
or caramel. I truly enjoyed seasonal Christmas cake (ginger, oranges,
cinnamon), plum and apple pie. I like fruits in pies! :D Prices for a piece of
cake in Zvezda are quite up there, from 4 to 5,50€ for a piece. My boyfriend
enjoys their macaroons. U I prefer the one with lavender.

Haribo marshmallows - we all know what marshmallows are, there’s
no need for introductions. The ones from Haribo have different fruity taste
added, not just that basic vanilla one. I used to like them more, but I still
enjoy them occasionally. I don’t care if jelly is made from animals or is
synthetic, I like the final product and that is called candy. These marshmallow
is not that easy to find, the cost around 2,30€.
Nic Nac’s peanuts – something salty and hard for teeth for the
end. I love peanuts and when they are coated, I love them even more. They are
way too salty and greasy. You have bad breath after eating them, your mouth
hurts, because they are ˝aggressive˝ and harder to chew, but I still enjoy
them. True guilty pleasure. I’m not sure who makes them, I think Germans again
(no Google says Canada). I thought this kind of things come from America
(close). They come in different flavors, but I prefer classic one. The smallest
package costs around 2€.
