First impressions: Living proof No Frizz

My hair is very frizzy and consequently I hate foggy or humid days. You know what I mean. Your hair can be perfectly styled and polished in the morning when you get ready, but once you’re outside, only good old ˝scrungy˝ can help you. All at the sudden you look like a mess. I often think: She can’t even control her hair, how does she manage her schedule? Ok now I’m overreacting. Anyway I always want to try something new, something that might possible work for a change.  So I ordered Living proof no frizz shampoo and styling cream.

Like most of things that people rave about on Instagram or YouTube, products by Living proof are not available in our country. If I’m not mistaken, there are also harder to find in whole Central Europe, so you need to buy it online. And here we get to the big problem. Well at least with my order this was the case. The packaging of shampoo is not really delivery friendly. It is very practical to use, rubberized plastic looks expensive and chic, but the cap on the top of shampoo can be open too easily. And this in exactly what happened; my shampoo got spilled all over the delivery box and of course over all my other stuff I ordered. So I hated the smell of it from day one. By the way, the smell is very citrusy, grapefruit like.

Shampoo is quite thick in consistency; you don’t need a lot, so it will last you for some time. On its own it doesn’t do much. It might slightly reduce frizz, but nothing major. But with combination with nourishing styling cream from the same line, it’s great. They really make great effect. Keep in mind that my hair is thick and when I wear it down, I always style it with flat iron.

Down side of styling cream is that makes you hair a little sticky. Not a lot, but you can feel it if you go through your hair with your fingers. Let me just say that it has the same annoying smell as shampoo. You need to put it on your wet hair in generous amount. My second day hair was even flatter, almost in need for washing or dry shampoo, to add some life to it. Luckily I didn’t experience any irritation on my scalp. I would prefer if I could use it on my dry hair as some finishing gloss or something like that.

Bottom line: I don’t think these products are worth the money. Especially shampoo is very expensive. I would say that John’s Frieda line is as good as this, for half of the price. And honestly you will get just one day of beautiful hair, the next day it can be already greasy. I will use it up for special occasions and days when I need to look polished. For regular use I’ll turn to something cheaper.
