Another day, another travel set to talk about, so let’s get straight to business! Rituals were always a fancy, mostly body care brand to me, which I was always religiously avoiding to try. “Shower gel is a shower gel, how can it be special?” True and not so true. Some of the products are special enough and worth a bit higher price because they are gentle and effective at the same time and most of all they smell like heaven.
Ritual od Sakura surely represents that piece of magic for me – it smells like cherry blossom and rice milk, a dreamy and soft combination. I actually hate anything cherry-like in perfumes, but here it is composed so well that it gives a different feeling. The smell is soft and not too strong.
This is one of their smallest gift sets, it contains four body care products and comes in a gorgeous gift box. It makes it very suitable for a present. My box includes:
- Sensational foaming shower gel – 50ml
- Softening rice scrub – 70ml
- Magic touch body cream – 70ml
- Blossoming hand wash – 110ml
- Gift box
Prices for this set are mostly everywhere the same, it costs around 20,90€.
Foaming shower gel – I have a love/hate relationship with this one. Let me explain. I adore the product, it is a super creamy, soft, and nourishing gel that doesn’t strip off your skin and leaves you with an addictive smell. But the packaging is a disaster. Great for traveling, because you can’t spill the content, but doesn’t work well. A few seconds after you’re done with pressing the top for squeezing it out, another and not so small amount of product comes out. That’s how the product gets wasted and you always need to clean it after use. Who wants to clean their shower gel? It supposed to be the opposite! I have another gel from the brand in the same packaging only a bigger size and does the same thing. So I assume it happens with all of them, it’s not a technical issue on my mini. I don’t want to buy another shower gel from them in this form.
Rice scrub – mostly I’m avoiding body scrubs containing oil because I hate that greasy feeling they can leave, but this one is not that bad. I like to use it on my legs before depilation or just for relaxing my muscles after a workout. Grains in it are quite gentle, so it is appropriate for frequent use. It leaves your skin moisturized and nicely scented, but I still feel a need to use a moisturizer afterward. Would I buy the full-size product? No, I like other scrubs much more, I enjoy powerful revitalizing scents.
Body cream – this is my favorite from the set. The cream is very thick and nurturing, almost like body butter, so you don’t need much. But it’s not super greasy. It is lightly scented and will not create that overwhelming scented cloud around you when you leave the bathroom and let everyone know that you used a cream. I really like it and would buy a full size one day.
Hand wash – after those problems with shower gel, I prefer to take this little one with me for washing up. I didn’t find it drying on my skin, so I think it’s appropriate to be used as shower gel if you need to and the packaging caused me no problems. I like this one way better because you can actually see how much is left inside. It leaves a much less strong smell than shower gel, but it’s still present. I don’t think I need to buy this in full size, you can find better and cheaper.
CONCLUSION: I use these products a lot when I travel and like them all. The scent of this line in very comforting. I think it is worth the price and could also be a great gift. I would like to buy a bigger gift set from Rituals in the future because also the ones with full-sized products are not very expensive and you actually save some money. It’s just that this packaging of shower foam is so unpractical and every set I like contains it.
