Nighttime skincare routine

Hello to you all! Hope you are healthy and staying positive in these crazy times. Anyway, my mission today is to distract you and myself for just a while. Recently I’ve been more into skincare, I bought some new products, changed my routine a bit and now I want to share this with you. Let’s get started!

STEP ONE: Cleaning

Lately, I’ve been wearing way less makeup, because of the mask, so my main focus is now on the eyes. I use MicellAir Skin Breathe eye makeup remover from Nivea. It does its job decently, it is affordable and available almost everywhere. I like that is not greasy and doesn’t leave that strange, heavy coat on my lashes.

For the face I use my favorite product from Nuxe, their Reve de Miel gentle makeup removing gel, which smells and feels divine. If you like honey, you should definitely try this. It is effective, but never dries out my skin or burns my eyes.

Luna mini 2 by Foreo is my new toy and also my first beauty gadget. I’m not really a fan of cleaning my face, but little one makes the whole process more exciting, so I’m actually looking forward to using it every time. It took me quite a while to decide if I should buy it or not because it is expensive for what it does. So when it was on sale I gave it a try. It is not something that you really need, I wouldn’t call it revolutionary, but it provides you that little spa moment every day and leaves your skin nicely clean and extra smooth. It is gentle, but I use it only once a day. I picked mine Luna mini 2 in bright yellow and it looks good and bright in my bathroom cabinet.

STEP TWO: Prep

This is also something new in my routine, an additional step which I hope will contribute to a better look of my dark sunspots on my forehead… someday. Caudalie Vinoperfect brightening essence is very pleasant to use. This is roughly said a mixture of water, grape water, and glycolic acid which suppose to help to brighten your skin. It is very refreshing; I really like to use it in the evening and also in the morning. It feels even more luxurious because it comes in fancy glass-like packaging. It is too early to tell if it really works, I have it only for two weeks now. All I can say is that it is not aggressive to my skin and it’s compatible with all my moisturizers.

STEP THREE: Care

For night time I love to use rich and greasier eye creams because I believe that they are more effective. Especially now, when colder weather is approaching rapidly, I need that extra care for my around-eye area. I am not a fan of expensive eye creams; I strongly believe that the ones from your local drugstore can be also very effective. My current choice is Chamomile anti-wrinkle eye cream for sensitive skin from Kozmetika Afrodita. It is a bit heavier and has a very thick consistency, so it is perfect for night pampering.

When it comes to great moisturizers, I swear by Origins. It quickly became my favorite skincare brand. Recently I bought their Oil-free High-potency night-a-mins resurfacing cream with fruit-derived AHAs. What a name! I am not good with ingredients, so I’ll tell you about it in my own words. It is an anti-aging cream. It is supposed to contribute to your skin’s regeneration, so consequently, it should be brighter, more even, and of course nicely hydrated. I would say, this is Ginzing’s mother. It smells very pleasant, like oranges with spices, so it’s a joy to use. Sometimes it can be a bit too heavy for my combination skin, but I think this will improve as the weather gets colder and I’ll need more hydration. It has a slightly priming effect right after application, which I love. I think my skin looks more energized and just overall better in the morning. This is my first serious night cream with anti-aging benefits, I don’t have many experiences but would highly recommend it.

TWICE A WEEK SERUM

Occasionally I treat my skin with something extra. Last year I fell in love with Elizabeth Arden’s Retinol ceramide capsules – Line erasing nigh serum. This stuff is supreme! The best serum ever. I love the idea of packaging in capsules, it is very practical and clever. And the serum itself is like a strong primer which instantly improves the look of your skin and corrects your fine lines. It absorbs very quickly, it is not greasy and the skin feels like velvet afterward. I had no side-effects after using it. In the morning, my skin just looks better, evenly hydrated and non-greasy. I will definitely buy this again.

Because I like the previous product so much, I also wanted to try another version of it Elizabeth Arden’s Vitamin C ceramide capsules – Radiance renewal serum. This is completely another story. It is supposed to be suitable for my combination skin, but sadly it is not. This serum is too greasy for me although I literally use only two to three drops of it for my face, the rest I apply on my neck, décolletage, and even my arms. It is super heavy and it doesn’t want to sink in. I’m still using it because it was not cheap and I want to use it up somehow, but I’m disappointed. Anyway, you need to try it first, and only then you will know if it works for you.
