La Roche Posay: Anthelios Anti-Imperfections corrective gel-cream with SPF 50

Today we’re going to check the last product from my ‘Testing on vacation’ series and I would call it the most important one because SPF is a big thing – La Roche Posay Anthelios Anti-imperfections corrective gel-cream with SPF 50. What a name, right? Try to explain that to your pharmacist at the counter.

Pros:

  • It was the most affordable from the range
  • It didn’t break me out
  • Offers great protection
  • Practical packaging

Cons:

  • If you put too much (I mean you supposed to be generous with your application) it starts to peel off
  • Quite greasy
  • Leaves not very flattering (ok ugly) shiny finish
  • You should blend it really well, otherwise, you’re left with a white cast
  • It is not a gel formula like it is written on the tube
  • Salicylic acid slightly burnt me at first, but my skin is not sensitive

For a beach or a pool time, I would surely recommend this, because it is reliable, but for every day it can be too heavy and too shiny. You can improve the situation with a powder, but it will leave your brush (and powder eventually) a mess. I just discover something much nicer from our local brand and will present it to you shortly. We often put French pharmacies on a pedestal, but our products seem to work equally good if not better, so we should just explore locally more.
