Fragrances to wear during this festive season

It’s that special time of the year again and if you are a fragrance enthusiast like me, then you understand how important is for us to ˝match˝ our scents to the occasion and then later connect them with fond memories, built during that time. Here is my selection of fragrances I like to wear during December. They are certainly not reserved only for this period, but somehow they help me to transfer into a festive mood.

Coco Chanel Eau de Toilette – this is a classic among amber-spicy fragrances. It is like a familiar cozy hug, but from a woman with confidence. It is classy, sophisticated, somehow even modern, but never boring. I adore the initial burst of orange and peaches, accompanied by a bouquet of spices, dominated by clove. This part reminds me of Christmas. It later settles down into spicy-peach sandalwood composition, with some sweetness from the background.

Gucci Flora – fresh orange juice spilled over mixed florals. This is exactly what I get from this and I love it because I find this unique. I was craving orange notes a while ago and this is what others suggested to buy and they were right. And why this puts me in a festive mood? Because it is similar to that scent that stays behind you in the room after you peeled off your orange during a lunch break. Makes any sense?

Hermes Elixir des Merveilles – this is Christmas in a bottle to me. Again we have a strong orange peel note, mixed with the freshness of pine needles, some sandalwood, patchouli, and tonka bean. I think this is the most difficult fragrance to describe from my collection because is so special and complex. It is super strong, so I don’t dare to wear it for work, but when I’m at home, it is my guilty pleasure. It leans more towards the male side.

Prada Candy Night – bitter, almost minty chocolate at first, but then it settles into a smoother version of cacao, mixed with musk. It is not the best version of cacao in perfumery, but the more I wear it, the more pleasant it gets. It is still quite serious and mature, it is not very sweet at all, so people at the office party will still take you seriously.
