Chanel: Poudre Belle Mine Ensoleillee in Medium Light

Many of us, I believe, occasionally crave something fancy. Something that will make us feel special just for a little while and we often find that in luxury makeup items. CHANEL definitely represents that luxury, at least with their advertising. But can it defend its name when it comes to the quality of beauty products?

I have really good experience with the original line of Leis Beiges sheer powders, so I wanted to explore more within this expanded or even limited-edition line.

Les Beiges Poudre Belle Mine Ensoleillee is a soft bronzing illuminator which supposed to give you that flattering, healthy-looking sun kissed glow. I chose mine in the shade ˝Medium light˝.

I would describe it as warm-toned, soft orange-brown with a lot of golden sheen. The color itself is quite sheer and easy to blend, but the golden particles are noticeable in the sunlight, especially if you try to build up a shade. For my skin tone, this is too light to be used as a bronzer, it is more like a golden highlighter, but done in a more sophisticated way. I need to use a stiffer brush to be noticeable, so that brush that comes with a product is not very useful to me. The powder is slightly floral-scented, but that goes away quickly.

I like how it looks, but it is not something that I expected it would be and especially not for this price. So next time when I’ll think I need something fancy, I’ll go check other brands.
