Yankee Candle: Coconut splash reveiw

A few weeks ago, when I was totally getting info the summer mood, I wanted a new candle for my room, to celebrate new season as I often do. I didn’t like anything from the current Yankee candle collections, so I picked up something ˝older˝ from the discount corner – Coconut Splash in medium jar.

It looked very appealing. Watery coconuts, perfect for me! And the classic elegant white wax works so sophisticated.

The cold candle smelled very nice and appealing, I mostly got sandalwood and some fruits in the background with just a pinch of coconut. That was ok for me, I thought that the coconut note should get more prominent once the candle lights up.

Well to my nose, this is quite disappointing, because all I get is strong sandalwood, mixed with just a hint of heavy sunscreen. Sadly, it is not that fresh coconut as I expected. And it is also too overpowering for my room, so I can only burn it for a shorter time, just to refresh the air, otherwise it’s a perfect trigger for a headache. Recently I have no luck with candles, or maybe I just got too sensitive for larger jars. I never had a problem with those small ones from my advent calendar.

I would recommend this for larger rooms, because there it might develop differently and you could get your perfect vacation scent.
