I had my eyes on Love Birds belts from Pinko for at least two years. At first, I wanted to buy thin, brown, more classic-like belt, then it was purple and finally, I bought a ˝bolder˝ dark green one. Why? Because I liked it the most.
So this is a 4 cm version in the size M. Yes, it is wide, but I also tried thinner ones and didn’t like them so much. The belt it originally designed to be worn on your waist, but I rarely wear something like this, so I decided to go a size up and wear it, lover, with my jeans. I didn’t want to buy something that will just collect dust in my closet, but an accessory that will be worn more often. How can I otherwise justify its price?
This shade might look a bit off in some pictures, it is not that bright in person, it is darker green. I find it quite versatile and can easily fit into my casual outfits and co-work with my bags. I often wear it with simple pieces, like shown in the pictures, it upgrades my look without being too much.
Because it is wide it could quickly become just overwhelming and dominant, but I don’t want that. Sometimes I ˝hide˝ it with a long jumper or blazer to tone it down if there is a lot going on. But that is just me being inside my comfort zone.
There are two downsides, ok three if you count the price. The buckle stands out a bit and sometimes catches on things, usually on my cross-body bag. The other is the width of the belt. Some of my jeans have smaller loops for the belt, so it takes some time to put it on.
I think Pinko makes high-quality belts, so I would recommend investing in one if that is your style. If I’m not mistaken these belts come in three different widths and many colors, so I’m sure you will find something perfect for you.
