My ˝vivid˝ nail polishes

Nail polish was my first makeup product. I think I was in 2th grade when my mother first time painted my nails with a white polish. I felt so proud and grown up. And not so long after, she bought me a clear polish with tiny glitters in it. I was not allowed to wear it for school, but just during weekends and holidays. I ˝seriously˝ started to paint my nails in 5th grade I think. My favorite polishes where always in nude colors and that remained till today. I own some more vivid or glittery polishes (at least vivid for my taste), but I don’t always feel comfortable wearing them, especially for work. Some can be toned down, if I paint just one coat and then it’s ok. One-coaters are not perfect, can be streaky and chip very easily. That can be partly fixed with a great top coat, but I don’t own it, because I would rarely use it.

OPI – Show us your tips!
This is my latest purchase. It’s a part of OPI’s New Orleans collection for spring/summer. First, I was in a hunt for a cream pale lavender polish. In first promo pictures of this collection, this polish seemed to be just like that. But then I realized that it’s not. This is blue violet (periwinkle) color with tiny silver glitters. I was not sure, if I want to buy it anyway, but when I saw swatches, I was in love.  I don’t need another nude color (in this case washed lavender) I want this polish, because it’s different and not typical ˝my˝ color.  For work, I just wear one coat, because with two, it becomes very opaque and noticeable. And that one coat reminds me on lavender with some glitter, what’s not bad at all. It chips after 2-3 days, but I don’t’ mind that, because I like to switch colors quite often. Similar colors are very trend this year, I noticed a lot of blues in different collections.

OPI – Purple Palazzo pants
I bought this one last winter, it a part of OPI’s fall collection Venice. It just makes me happy. I wore it during the coldest days and it made me feel a bit better. I don’t like typical winter/fall dark polishes, I own just one like that and use it very rarely. It’s a bright, Barbie pink/ purple color. Although it’s so bright I feel comfortable wearing it, even for the office. I think that previous polish is not so ˝girly˝ and it’s harder to pull it off. This one is not wearable as a one coater ( I mean you can wear just one coat, but it doesn’t look pretty), the consistence is just too watery. Two coats are perfect. Without the topcoat it lasts for about 2-3 days. Cream polishes like this from OPI chip faster than jelly ones. It’s a very good spring-summer color, or for me, the whole year one.

Zoya – Magical pixie dust – Bar
This is the only Zoya I own. Basic color is nude, but there a ton of chunky, multi color glitters added. Pixie dust texture is similar to liquid sand, but more rough I would say. It often happens, that my nail get stuck on fabric (like nylon tights), what I hate, but the effect on nails is prettier. This type of polishes last very long, so I would recommend wearing it for example on shorter holidays and you don’t need to bring your nail polish remover. I like to put this polish just on one finger (mostly ring finger), to revive my nude manicure. Used on this way is also more office friendly. It’s very hard to get it off and I’m just too lazy to do the foil thing.

OPI –Baby please come home – Liquid sand
I own this polish for about 2,5 years. It has a liquid sand texture, which means that its texture is rough, but beautiful and long wearing. It’s lavender-silver color, full of chunky glitters, so I war it just occasionally, sometimes just for myself when I’m at home during weekends. It’s hard to get it off, but it’s not impossible either. Liquid sand and similar formulas, was very popular two years ago, somewhere from that is also this nail polish. Polish is from Mariah Carey holiday collection 2013. It thickened a bit, but not that much. I’m considering to buy a nail polish thinner, but don’t’ know yet which one, since the price are very different.
