Seduction from a dark bottle: Chrystal noir, Jasmine noir L’Essence

Dark perfume bottles are always sending me similar message: I’m made for the night out, I’ll make you sexy and irresistible, men will go crazy, and heads will turn… that’s before I smell the content, later things often change and my imagination is left disappointed. I adore oriental and more complex fragrances, but they must be wearable for different occasions and definitely not to strong. It’s primitive for my age, I know, but it still always helps, if perfume comes in a pretty bottle.

I believe that this fragrance doesn’t need an introduction, because everybody knows it. If it used to be reserved for a bit older Misses, now a lot of teenage girls wear it, what I found a bit disturbing. Girls, stick with your idol/celebrity fragrances like we used to when we were in high school. Ok, I’m joking, but this fragrance is still quite popular even after 12 years – yes it’s that old. Chrystal noir smells like spicy white flowers with some light sweetness, wood and coconut added. It’s strong just at first, but later spices become fresher and at the end it turns into creamy dry down. On me the coconut note, which supposed to be dominant, is not so present, but is detected. One spray and I can smell it for the whole day, on clothes stays for days. It’s wearable during whole year, for the daytime or an evening. I don’t wear it for work, because it’s my special perfume, but it would be office appropriate. I have for some people a very strange habit – I spray with perfume before I go to bed (if I’m alone, I don’t want to give my boyfriend a headache). This relaxes me and gives me that million dollar feeling, especially when using this fragrance. Similar effect gives me also during the day; it’s not just my bedtime scent.

This bottle I own now for three and a half years now, so I should to use it up, before it changes. The design of the bottle is very elegant, dark glass, heavy cap and some golden touches add that expensive look. I’m sure I will buy this gem again, because it’s really a quality fragrance and not very pricey, if you buy it online.

It’s whole different story from Bvlgari. Someone wrote on Fragrantica, that L’Essence version of Jasmine Noir is James Bond between perfumes, someone other wrote, that it’s only funerals appropriate. It’s dark, strong, smoky jasmine with some sweetness added. It reminds me on licorice candies but with smoke added. When I wear it, it makes me feel grown up and important, sometimes even seductive. It’s strict and serious scent, although it contains that sweet note. This one I do wear for work. With it, I want to give an impression, that I’m reliable and dedicated to what I do – maybe you’ll find this funny. When wearing extra sweet scents, I always think that I send just flirty, girly vibes, but whit this one, people must take you serious.

The only negative thing about this perfume is that it gives me a rash if I spray it on my skin – this is a common thing for me unfortunately. On clothes it’s very long lasting and the sweet not in it is more dominant then when sprayed on the skin. The bottle is classy black glass sealed with heavy golden cap with some glitters on it. Bvlgari is usually wallet unfriendly and it’s the same with this fragrance. But this scent is complex, quality and stands out from the crowd a bit.
