New products for June/July

After a period of laziness, hectic days and summer holiday, I finally found some motivation to write my blog again. In the past weeks I bought some new makeup and skincare products and today I’m going to present some of them to you. Generally speaking I’m really satisfied with my latest purchases, so these items can be easily categorized as my June/July or even all time favorites.

Yves Rocher – Jardins du Monde - Brazilian coffee velvet shower cream
I’m a big coffee lover, but I rarely like coffee scented products. I don’t know why, but often they smell so strange and fake. This shower cream is a bright exception; I bought it for the third time now. It smells realistic and somehow makes me feel so great and relaxed, especially after my workout. It’s very thick and creamy; you need just a little amount. The whole bathroom then smells like coffee house. I’ve been lately in loved in coffee and honey scented products as you will notice. Although the product is quite perfumed, it doesn’t irritate my skin, but you certainly need to apply your lotion/butter after, because it’s not hydrating. I will definitely buy this gem again.

Max factor – eye luminizer brightener
This is another repurchase, and the only brightener had I like completely (five stars like). I tried with others, but I always return to this one. Firstly, packaging is huge and for a funny price. 15ml which lasts more than a year and I use it almost every day, costs less than 8€. It’s in a mini cute bottle with a pump, what I find very practical. You just need to be careful with an application, because the whole press from the pump is too much. You need to press gentle, for just small amount of product. It has mils, fresh scent, which quickly fades away. Color selection is not very big, they have only 3 shades, but colors are just great. I currently use a color in ˝fair˝. I repurchased the product just last week and accidently pick up different shade that I have at home. I mean, I have it in my hands almost every day! I bought ˝light˝. I swatched testers in store and I think it will be ok. I haven’t opened it yet, because I’m not completely done with my old bottle. Names of shades confused me a bit. They are called: light, fair and light/fair. Funny thing is, that in stores only sell two shades at once. This brightener gives a light coverage, for me it’s just enough. It looks very natural and creases just occasionally. Sometimes it doesn’t at all. I always fixed it with translucent pressed powder and I’m calm trough the whole work time. I also always apply my eye cream underneath, because my skin around the eyes gets dry.

Swatch of shade fair

L’oreal – Color Riche single eyeshadow smoky 305 Kaki repstyle
This shadow looks scary dark green in the pan, but when swatched, it’s just gorgeous. I would call it taupe green with golden shimmer. Just beautiful and very flattering for my eyes I think. I searched a perfect greenish eyeshadow for a long time. They were even too dark or too light. This one is very pigmented and look scary at first, but when you blend it, can be quite subtle. The staying power is not very long, but just the shade alone does it’s justice – that’s why I bought it anyway. The packaging is typical for L’oreal for the past years, looks very elegant and expensive.

Blended

Revlon – Just Bitten Kissable balm stain 010 Darling
I think these lip stains/balms were very popular about four years ago, but I bought mine only now, partly because it was on sale. I picked up a gorgeous pink/lilac color, something different from what I usually wear. The color is shiny, sheer, but buildable. I read reviews before I bought it and was afraid that the minti smell that were bloggers describing would bother me, but it’s not that strong. Formula is not sticky, quite moisturizing and comfortable to wear. For a lip balm has a decent staying power, it stains quite beautiful. I would say it lasts on me for about four hours even in a very hot weather, if I don’t eat of course. The only down side is the packaging. You can easily destroy the tip of a balm with the cap, when you still have a newer product. It doesn’t twist in completely, what is a shame. Although I bought a more spring color, I really enjoy wearing it during summer. It’s often my only makeup product (next to concelear under my eyes and mattifying powder of course) I wear these days.

One swipe

The body shop – Honeymania body butter

I wanted this for so long, but now, I admit, I’m a bit disappointed. I ordered it from Ebay, because the nearest Body shop is about 400km from where I live. The formula itself is perfect, very thick and nourishing, but the smell is not revolutionary. It’s very similar to that one from Nuxes’s Reve de Miel collection, jut more florally. So bee wax and flowers. If it would be cheaper I would like it more, but for this price I need a perfect, sweet honey like scent. Packaging is appealing and cute. It’s a shame, because it is a very quality body butter.
