Burberry: Brit Rhythm

I believe my obsession with lavender started, when I bought lavender hand cream from L’occitane. I wasn’t very happy when leaving the store, because this cream was my second choice and I always thought that lavender is just boring and for old people or your bathroom. Luckily I was wrong and entirely felt in love with the scent. I liked it so much that I wanted to buy a lavender perfume. Soon I discovered that this goal will be hard to reach and much easier to achieve if I were a guy. Lavender is often used in male and home fragrances. Maybe things will change because on the new Mon Guerlain (guess what, it contains top lavender note), but reviews are not the best and I think that again the note of vanilla is sadly dominating.

So let’s finally get to the point. When searching on Fragrantica.com Brit Rhythm is not listed under lavender group, but I found it on forum. I hadn’t have high expectations, because I always thought that Burberry can be boring and word aromatic in descriptions of fragrance was just scaring me. I was afraid it would smell like those anti moth bags which you put in your closet, but I was so wrong.

It starts with sharp citruses, but then quickly transforms into gentle lavender, blackberry, sweet and fresh scent. It’s quite complex and hard to describe. Just be sure that this won’t remind you on your grandma’s clothes. It is quite strong and very long lasting scent, but not so heavy that would give you a headache. To me is very comforting and puts me into ˝My zone˝. If I refer to reviews from the web, a lot of people don’t detect lavender in here. Often is called boring and detergent like.

It belongs to floral woody musk group.
Top notes: (English) lavender, pink pepper, neroli, aldehydes
Middle notes: orris, orange blossom, petalia, blackberry leaf
Base notes: vetiver, musk, woodsy notes, cedar, coumarin

Fragrance was released in 2014 and was not so easy to find in our drugstores. Ladies there where like: »You’re looking for what? « I believe it didn’t get a lot of attention and was not advertised as much as some other brands. The bottle is heavy, looks very like expensive crystal. Simple, classy and elegant. Since this fragrance supposed to reflect English gardens, I’ll probably wear it when I visit London this late spring. I don’t know why is it called Rhythm, maybe because it is dynamic and joyful fragrance.
