Cover FX Mattifying primer with anti-acne treatement

This primer was recommended on a few web sites and supposed to work very well on oily and blemish prone skin, so this was a reason I bought it. I own it since April, which means that I tested it in a bit colder weather and also during summer. And simple conclusion is: it didn’t do anything for me. Nada, niente, zero J Luckily I only bought travel size. I really had high hopes for this, because products that I know from Cover FX have good reviews and are popular.

My skin is always too shiny and this made it even greasier. It left me look like a total mess. I looked like a teenager who doesn’t know what she is supposed to do with her skincare. Total opposite effect than expected. I was looking for something that would ˝dry out˝ my T-zone a bit, like some moisturizers (from Bioderma) for oily skin do.

I need to stress that I used this on its own or with my moisturizer and then set with pressed powder. I never used it under foundation. Product is transparent – gel like, thick and has oily feeling. When blended, it gives that smooth pleasant feeling, but never total mat. It works quite nice for two hours maximum, but then not anymore. It has mild, but unpleasant smell which fades away quickly and it’s not disturbing. Travel sized tube contains 15ml, and costs around 14€ (Beautybay.com). Packaging is standard and practical; you need to shake it before use. You need just a tiny size of it, so even small container will last for a long time.

What else can I say? My experience was bad, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t work for you. Primers can be strange and work differently on people, so maybe you should give it a try. Our skin reacts different, maybe you’ll be lucky and this will be a Holy Grail primer for you.
