Valentino: Donna Acqua

I found a beautiful summery fragrance only in August, but I don’t mind. I think it might also work as good during winter in my hot and stuffy office. This is my first fragrance from Valentino; I always admired his products from far and just shyly give them a try. Where can I start? First big impression gives an elegant and heavy glass bottle; it is very similar to her big sister Donna, just thinner and taller. About her big sister, they have nothing in common. Donna is by my opinion heavy, powdery, floral and loud; Donna Acqua is fresh, sweet, lighter and fun.

It is simple, floral fruity scent. I would also say it is sunny, happy and a bit girly. On Fragrantica.com is described as oriental floral, but I disagree, on me is pure fruity floral. I must admit I was drawn to it particularly because of the pear not, which is quite strong and long present. It slightly reminds me of Katy Perry’s Meow, but in lighter and mature way.

It is not very original, but similar to some much cheaper celebrity scents, but this time I wanted to give Valentino a try. I’m not sure if it is classy enough, that people on some important events can take you serious. It gives more casual vibes.
On me is long lasting and appropriate for hot days. I haven’t worn it for work yet, it is still in ˝occasional appearance˝ phase, because it’s new. I believe it is work appropriate and won’t bother anyone. It is a true crowd pleaser with mild projection.
I was afraid that the almond note would be too strong and would bother me, but it’s pleasant and doesn’t stay very long. It interesting how almond at the beginning can be easily interpreted as cherry, so don’t be fooled or scared, give it some time to develop.

Top notes:
Pear, Almond
Middle notes:
Jasmine, Frangipani
Base notes:

Sandalwood, Hawthorn
