A year ago, my boyfriend and I went on our first trip to London. I got
on a plane for the first time and was very excited and also scary at the same
time. But I liked the experience and would definitely do it again. Don’t let me
even bother to explain how our bags arrived home the day after us… but at the
end, everything was fine.
My first time on the plane
I think this was mostly my wish,
especially because of my love to British royal stuff. I always wanted to see
Kensington palace and other places related to princes Diana. I was lucky enough
to see exhibition of her most famous dresses.

Those few days gone by very quickly and I think that my experience of
England was quite superficial in one way. I don’t know if I was truly aware of
the fact that I was actually in London and realizing my longtime wish. There
was a lot of walking, driving by subway, visiting to museums and junk food. We
were not really proud of ourselves because of that and made an agreement that
we’ll do better on our next trip. Supposedly typically cold, windy and rainy
May was very sunny and hot. We stayed in older mansard apartment, so nights
were a bit shorter and quite uncomfortable.

I must admit I was slightly nervous about terrorist attacks, safety
measures were on higher level and that was noticeable. In that week there was
attack at Arianna’s Grande concert in Manchester, but even very closer than
usual, that seemed so far away. I’m not racist by any mean, but I’m not used to
being among so many people by different nationalities. That made me feel
slightly uncomfortable.
Food talk - I was disappointed with our trial of fish and chips
variation, it was super greasy and tasteless. Oh but we discovered ˝Pret A
Manger˝, which was very good place to eat a healthier meal. I had high hopes
for coffee and cupcakes as well, but left disappointed. Maybe I should explore
more, but I did really enjoy cheap chocolate from a local supermarket.

Best part? It might seem stupid, but I love to sit and observe people,
it might be just usual street life or daily commuters on public transport. Regrets?
I regret not taking some more time to take pictures and on that way collect my
own memories. But I believe I will travel to London again and correct that.
My Krištof and London eye
It was just a year ago, but to me it feels quite far away. My impression
of London was that it is somehow gray and sad city, probably because of their
traditional architecture. Anyway I liked it very much and would like to return.
