Vienna photo story

I have been kind of late with this post, because it’s been over a week since we returned from our trip, but better later than never, right?

First week of June, my boyfriend and I spend in beautiful Vienna, Austria. We went there by car, driving is not that long, about four hours from Ljubljana. What is four hours to someone who lives in USA J

Anyway we had a wonderful time, the weather was great. Austria is quite expensive for my opinion. Small bottle of water costs from 1,60€ in stores to 1,90€ at the gas stations. Of course most of restrooms are not for free. Regular cup of coffee is around 3,5€, average lunch is 15€. It might not seem a lot, but money goes quickly from your hands. Food in grocery store was more expensive that in Slovenia, well at least our closest supermarket. Not to mention if you like pretty things in stores… Also commission fees in museums can go up to 25€, while most of entries in London was for free. And there was no security check. Vienna is quite busy city, full of tourists, mostly from Asia. It is not that dynamic than London, but more calm and somehow friendly. I felt relaxed when we were walking through the streets. Public transportation was good and less crowded than in England, but of course, it’s a smaller city.

Culinary milestones? No. Actually I was disappointed. I didn’t like the coffee that much and the cake on one of the busiest streets was dry and boring. We loved everything from Dunkin’ Donuts, Starbucks and McDonalds. Very European. Don’t judge, we were on vacation! Oh and the pizza was also wonderful.

 very good pizza

Anything else to share? It’s friendly, safe and clean city, filled with history and wonderful parks and palaces. If you like those kind of things, you should definitely visit. You can’t go wrong with Vienna. And be prepared to walk – a lot. Those great buildings and public gardens are huge. We made 75km of walking that week!

Wishes

It is time for another wish list or as I like to say it – things that recently caught my attention. Honestly, this is just a small fraction, but I’m too embarrassed to everything out there. The center of the list represents a linen lounge shirt from Intimissimi . I bought one last year and I am super pleased with it. It keeps me cool during these crazy tropical nights and feels very comfortable. I also very much enjoy their silk shirts, but the buttons are simply too annoying sometimes … Now, let’s go up and right to Dior. Another blush? Yes, please! Dior yet again reformulated their famous Backstage Rosy Glow blushes and added some new shades. I always desperately wanted to buy the lavender one, but it was not available in our country. But now something completely different caught my attention – muted, peachy, beige shade – Toffee . I swatched it already and it is pretty, but packed with gold glitter, so I need to try it again to be fully convinced. Smooth&Glow...

Dior Forever Glow Maximizer - Peachy

Apparently this year I have been obsessed with highlighters and blushes because it is time to review another one – Forever Glow Maximizer by Dior in the shade PEACHY. If the Star Glow Filter is very subtle, this is not. It is not tacky and can be beautifully blended, but it’s a real highlighter that serves its purpose. Peachy – light, golden peach with gold and pink shimmer. On my light skin tone, I often wear this as a blush, because I think it works better on me like this. It gives that slight amount of warmth to my face and a subtle golden sheen. It can be built up, but it can also look too much. Now when I’m getting a bit darker I love to put it on top of my bronzer or/and use it as an eyeshadow to achieve a light monochromatic summer look.  Indoor light Sunlight This is a great and versatile product, but I still prefer powder versions of Dior highlighters, they are just easier to work with and blend more effortlessly. I think that with liquid highlighters you always need to be...
