Weekend drugstore haul

So what do you do when you get a drugstore gift card for your birthday? Ok first option: you pick something more expensive product that was on your wish list, but you never took a chance to buy it. Second option: you buy a bunch of things that you use on regular basics with some exceptions. I decided for a second version, so let’s see what I bought this weekend.

Garnier body Cocoon milk with apricot – first time I bought myself this product was 15 years ago, so it brings back memories. May I say from my childhood? It might not have the best and all natural ingredients, but I love it. It is lightly scented and leaves my skin super soft. I love the packaging, because it’s so bright and somehow positive.

Garnier facial Botanical cleanser with grape extract – another ˝retro˝ product that’s been my great companion many years ago and now it ˝returned˝ to me. This toner is not harsh to my skin; I never had a bad experience with it. I originally wanted to try version with honey, but it’s not available in our country.

How cute is this giraffe :)

Nivea 3 in 1 cleansing micellar face wipes - I was so happy with these wipes when I took them to Vienna with me, so I wanted to buy them again. They are very effective, gentle to eyes, big enough and they smell just wonderful. They are more on the expensive side, but can’t compare with own drugstore brands. So if wipes are your only or main step in cleaning your makeup (maybe on a trip), you should definitely try them out.

Nivea MicellAir skin breathe expert – to be honest I bought this by mistake. I thought this was fancy edition of regular micellar water just in smaller size. I was wrong, this is more of an eye makeup remover. It’s ok, I’ll use it anyway, but I still need to buy ˝plain˝ micellar water, because I often use it as a final step in my makeup removing routine. I haven’t try it out. If it’s good, I will surely let you know. If it disappoints me, it will go on another list. Again on the pricier side for what it is…

Eos active aloe - I told myself that I won’t buy Eos anymore, because it’s too big for smaller bags, but I did it again. I never had this version, so was curious to try. I expect it to have some king of mild and neutral flavor. Great thing is that it has SPF 30, so it will be perfect for days out in the sun.

Afrodita Hydra patch eye cream - the last thing I bought is eye cream. Otherwise I was looking for cooling gel type of eye cream, made for waking me up. But creams with good reviews were soooo expensive, I’m not prepared to pay 42€ for Estee Lauder. When in doubt, buy ˝local˝. Afrodita is cosmetics brand from Slovenia which I trust; it has good ingredients, wide range and affordable prices. It’s not described as cooling, but I think it will be light enough and fresh for summer. I will try it soon and let you know what my thoughts are. I can say you though, I don’t like the packaging, it reminds me on tooth paste.

Caudalie beauty elixir – I had this before and it was not my favorite. But when I ran out of it, I missed it, especially now during summer. I sometimes use it as toner or refreshing face spray in the morning (I start my job at 6 AM, so it’s welcomed to wake me up). Just don’t use it too much, because it contains alcohol.
