I might just found something great (but not perfect) for my oily skin – Effaclar Mat moisturizer from La Roche Posay. I know about this product for a long time, because it’s popular and has great recommendations, but I never actually decided to buy it. I don’t know why, maybe because here it’s only sold in pharmacies and I don’t like going there. Could be. I have never tried a product from La Roche Posay before.
This cream performs on the level of an expensive primer and gives an instant mattifying finish, which lasts much longer than I’m used to. Not for a whole working day, but still long enough. And when my face becomes oily, oiliness is less intense, so that means also less noticeable. I often put mattifying powder on the top, which doesn’t make any changes with oiliness or longevity of oil control, just evens my skin tone.
The texture is light, but not watery or gel like. First impression when you put it on your face is that this could be something heavier or even oily, because you’re not getting that boost of freshness. But don’t worry, it distributes fast, absorbs very quickly and leaves super soft and velvety feeling. I mean my face becomes baby soft and ideal after application. I did not detach any smell even the fragrance is listed between ingredients. It is also great as night cream. I wake up with less oilier T-zone if any. It might get even too weak during winter.
I like the packaging, because it’s simple and practical. It comes in sleek and simple tube small enough for traveling. Tube contains 40ml and will last you for quite a while, because you really don’t need much. I often squeeze more then I need ant then use it on my neck also.
So if you have oily or mixed skin and you hate that extra shine on your face, this is definitely something to try. It is suitable for sensitive or problematic skin. I think price is ok for what it does, I paid around 17€ for it at my local pharmacy, it might be cheaper online.
