I discovered BEAUTY IS LIFE by pure coincidence and often this type of
discoveries can be the best. A few times per year I order my all kind of beauty
products from a German website and there I found this, to me totally unknown
and professional looking brand. With their endless selection of colors it somehow
reminded me on MAC. That was my first impression. Latter on I discovered that
the person behind the brand is German makeup artist Beatrix Isabel Lied and
that she founded the company back in 1978 in Hamburg. After ˝goggling˝ some
information, I think it is not well known in the beauty community, which is a
shame. I hope it is more expended between professionals, because the quality is
really great.
I ordered two single eyeshadow. You just can’t
find everything you like in a palette, so I love singles. And often I just put
one shadow on my lid, so they are great for traveling too.
81c Start – gorgeous cool mauve mat. It is
buttery smooth, very pigmented and can be blend nicely. I think it is very
flattering on me and one of my favorite colors in general. It is somewhere in
the middle, not too dark, but not very bright either. I like to combine it with
grey shades.
28w Jungle – khaki green base with strong
golden shimmer. It is quite intense, shimmery part is dominating, so it tends
to be more golden than green. Glittery parts are not too big, so it blends
nicely. I haven’t noticed any disturbing fallout and I never use a primer. For
sure it is not the usual safari green that is stable part of summer
collections. For daytime, I apply it with light hand. Sometimes I need to tone
it down, usually with with some kind of brown matte color.
I would highly recommend you to try these
single eyeshadows, selection of shades is large enough to find something you
like. They are not very cheap, in Europe you would pay around 23€ for a pot of
3,50g.
