My Yankee candles

Ebony and Oak
This one is my favorite and sadly discontinued. I should have bought the largest jar, but now it’s too late. Maybe one day they will make something similar. Anyway this scent reminds me on walk trough forest on warm fall day, accompanied with sound of fallen leafs underneath my feet.

Moonlight
It’s very pleasant and calming. To me this one smells like male cologne, but in a good way. It is not overpowering, which is very important to me, because I’m prone to headaches caused by heavy fragrances. I get a mixture of my beloved patchouli and refreshing citruses.

Dried Lavender & Oak
Another replica of male fragrance or walk-in to expensive high fashion store. It is stronger than previous two candles mentioned, but still not too strong to be enjoyable. I like it, but it’s not my favorite. I expected this to be different; I think lavender is quite fake and not as good as in some other candles, like ˝classic˝ Yankee lavender.

Pain au Raisin
Very good gourmand scent, but again it was limited edition. Well at least in our country. This one strongly represents scents from bakery, especially scent of fresh cinnamon buns with raisins and brown sugar. I like that is not too sweet, but the problem is that it gets super strong, so I can’t burn it for longer time. I use this just to refresh my room, so it will last me for a long time.

Spiced Orange Ginger – Elevation
I must admit that I like the Elevation concept of candles more than traditional Yankee candles. They are simply more elegant and just nicer. Spiced orange ginger is very strong; I can smell it in my room even when it is not lighted. It reminds me on Christmas, but was released as part of fall collection. Mostly I get a lot of orange and nutmeg, or maybe I mistaken it with ginger.

Riviera Escape
Riviera Escape is my least favorite from this bunch. It is super strong and gives me headaches. It smells like overpowering citruses, mixed with some kind of flowers. You could put this in the kitchen for example after cooking something with not very pleasant smell and it would quickly solve your problem. I simply don’t like it.

Current wishes? I saw a preview of holiday collection, but nothing caught my attention. Halloween candles are just too big and expensive. I would surely like to try some scents from Elevation collection like: Tonka bean and pumpkin, Pear and tea leaf or maybe Velvet woods.

Wishes

It is time for another wish list or as I like to say it – things that recently caught my attention. Honestly, this is just a small fraction, but I’m too embarrassed to everything out there. The center of the list represents a linen lounge shirt from Intimissimi . I bought one last year and I am super pleased with it. It keeps me cool during these crazy tropical nights and feels very comfortable. I also very much enjoy their silk shirts, but the buttons are simply too annoying sometimes … Now, let’s go up and right to Dior. Another blush? Yes, please! Dior yet again reformulated their famous Backstage Rosy Glow blushes and added some new shades. I always desperately wanted to buy the lavender one, but it was not available in our country. But now something completely different caught my attention – muted, peachy, beige shade – Toffee . I swatched it already and it is pretty, but packed with gold glitter, so I need to try it again to be fully convinced. Smooth&Glow...

Dior Forever Glow Maximizer - Peachy

Apparently this year I have been obsessed with highlighters and blushes because it is time to review another one – Forever Glow Maximizer by Dior in the shade PEACHY. If the Star Glow Filter is very subtle, this is not. It is not tacky and can be beautifully blended, but it’s a real highlighter that serves its purpose. Peachy – light, golden peach with gold and pink shimmer. On my light skin tone, I often wear this as a blush, because I think it works better on me like this. It gives that slight amount of warmth to my face and a subtle golden sheen. It can be built up, but it can also look too much. Now when I’m getting a bit darker I love to put it on top of my bronzer or/and use it as an eyeshadow to achieve a light monochromatic summer look.  Indoor light Sunlight This is a great and versatile product, but I still prefer powder versions of Dior highlighters, they are just easier to work with and blend more effortlessly. I think that with liquid highlighters you always need to be...
