I think that March is appropriate month to
start with spring makeup, would you agree? Bring on some bright color! I’m a
big fan of pastels, especially when it comes to nail polish, blush and eye
shadows... and of course clothes too. Recently I desired to play with some
bright eye colors, but I was of course bored of those that I already own and
wanted to try something new. So I went to explore and pick something very nice
and budget friendly – Never give up your
daydream by Essence.
This stunning palette with totally suitable
name contains 9 pastel shimmer, holographic shadows. If you’re looking for
mattes, this is not for you. Shadows are not that crazy pigmented, so you would
be able to create softer looks, but you can also build them up. I like to wear
just one shade all over my lid and then define my eye with neutral, usually
matte gray shadow. Since all shades are cool toned, I think it looks very nice
if I pair them with this contrast.
They blend quite easily and stay on my lids
nicely trough the whole work day. I haven’t experience any shimmer fallout
which is great. I remove then with my drugstore brand two phased oil remover
without a problem.
I think this palette is multipurpose and you
can easily use these shadows as highlighters, but personally I wouldn’t do
that, they are just too much for me.
When it comes to Essence, I have very different
experiences. You never know what to expect. It can be a total win or total
miss. This time I’m very happy with my purchase. I believe this was released
last spring, so I guess I’ve been living under a rock. Anyway if you want to
experiment with some holographic pastels, go for it.
