Kerastase: Soliel discovery set

Well hello there! It’s been a while – again since I posted anything new, but now, let’s catch up, shall we? This week I’m going to present to you my three newer travel sets: one from haircare, one from skincare, and one from body care. I’m not sure about you, but I love travel sets and minis in general. We all probably know that they are usually pretty much very expensive, compared to larger sizes, but we tend to buy them anyway because they can be so inviting, cute and not to forget, travel friendly. Minis are also good for trying out new things, before you fully commit yourself to a product and when it comes to makeup, maybe they only size that you can truly use up before it goes bad.

Today I want to show you a travel set dedicated to summer hair care from Kerastase, called Soleil. When it comes to hair care, I’m super lazy and that hits me back and shows on my hair big time. So I promised myself to be better this summer and ordered myself some new goodies.

Set contains three products:

  • Shampoo: Bain Apres Soleil – 80ml
  • Hair mask: Masque Apres Soleil – 75ml
  • Hair cream: Crème UV Sublime – 50ml
  • mini vinyl bag

Online prices for this set vary from 22€ to 27€, maybe you can find it somewhere on sale by now since we’re reaching the peak of the season.

As I already mentioned, this line is created for protecting your hair from ˝summer˝, so that means from the factors like sun, salt, and chlorine. All products have very pleasant and expected coconut/sun lotion smell and come in beautiful, compact red plastic packaging which I assume won’t let you down during travel.

Shampoo – it cleaned my thicker and quite greasy hair very well and leave them with a gorgeous scent, but they didn’t stay clean for a long time. My hair gets dirty very easily, so I need something more ˝aggresive˝ if you know what I’m talking about. This doesn’t suit my hair type, so I won’t buy a whole size, but for traveling and often washing, it’s ok. It meets my standards of vacation products.

Hair mask – this one impressed me a lot, it showed immediate improvement on my damaged hair. It left my hair smoother and easier to work with. Mask has a medium consistency, but you still don’t need a lot, so it will last for a while. I am definitely tempted to buy a whole size, but I don’t like the prices for it in our country at all. Maybe it will be cheaper during winter months because I think it is more kind of seasonal product.

Hair cream – I use this as a styling product on my dry hair for a smoother look and managing my fizzy hair. It’s good but nothing revolutionary, I think it weighs down my hair a bit. I expected more shine, especially because it is a summer product when we like something extra. I’m still planning to use it before going to the pool and try it under “hard” conditions if I get a chance to do that this summer. This is definitely not on my wish list.

Vinyl bag – it is practical and quite well made, but could be better. I recently saw something similar in Primark for fraction of the price so… They could try more.

CONCLUSION: I don’t regret buying it, I will use up everything, but the price of this set should be lower. They have similar sets for the same price containing their signature hair oil which would last you a lot longer than these products. So I would recommend to check them out and wait for a sale or a special deal to get this one.
