Sometimes you need a break from serious, complex, and overpriced designer fragrances and just wear something extra uplifting and fun. In the past year or so I realized that my fragrance collection is leaning towards being boring. More and more perfumes were somehow left behind and being forgotten because they were just not interesting enough for me. I decluttered a few and that instantly made me feel better.
I went back to basics and ask myself what I really like. I remembered that I used to love Meow by Katy Perry, but it is not available here anymore. Then I got introduced to its dupe. Bingo!
Sweet like candy by Ariana Grande is as I just mentioned, very similar to Meow, but includes more berry notes. It is my first celebrity fragrance after a few years now, and I’m very glad that I turned to explore these shelves again.
I would describe it as very sweet, but fresh. I can recognize the notes of frangipani, pear, and some marshmallow. I believe those are dominating. It has been great for wearing in hot weather so far and an amazing work companion. Yes, am I’m not ashamed to wear this for work, although almost all YouTubers describe this as ultra-childish. It doesn’t get much love from ˝older˝ reviewers like they are ashamed of liking something affordable. Hey, I will wear whatever I want and so should you! It simply makes me happy and brings back some nostalgic feelings.
The bottle is amazing, the most unique in my fragrance drawer. And of course, that pom-pom would look great on your keys! The lasting power is good and the projection moderate.
