Strobing was a big thing a few years ago and all sorts of brands came out with their own powder or even more popular cream version. Then came the era of bold highlighters and something subtle and soft was harder to find. MAC was of one of a few that kept their famous strobing cream in their assortment, but of course, they had to discontinue a shade or two.
It seems like this spring MAC has returned strobing back in the game big time and blessed us with new products.
I picked the new shade of their signature strobing cream – UVLITE. It is described as cool pearlescent violet and looks just amazing on my cool skin tone. It can be applied lightly and worn subtly, but you can also build it up. It is more compact, less watery and more pigmented than PINKLITE. I am not sure if the whole range has been reformulated or if this is just a difference between two shades.
It is still hydrating, but not as wet. This formula is easy to work with, it blends nicely and it is visible. PINKLITE on the other hand sometimes just blends in completely and simply disappears.
I like to wear it alone, as a highlighter or pair it with another cool toned favorite – Totally Synced Glow Play blush. Dreamy combination, trust me!
UVLITE finally fulfilled my endless cravings for a lilac highlighter, although the trend is still going on and it is very hard but also tempting to watch new makeup launches.
