Bottega Veneta Eau De Velours

Top notes: bergamot and pink pepper; Middle notes: rose, jasmine, plum and spices; Base notes: patchouli and leather. On official Bottega Veneta site is among notes mentioned also iris butter Chrype floral group     This was a blind buy. I was looking for something new and different. I’m sick of all super sweet scents that are so popular right now. When I’m walking on the streets, I can mostly smell just one so familiar fragrance and that is just sad. We all know which one, right? After weeks of reading only positive reviews I decided to buy it. Naughty me J .Some even declared this as best flanker of 2017. It is different than expected, but still very pleasant, enjoyable and packed into most gorgeous bottle. Reviewers described this as dark, mysterious and masculine, but to me it’s soft and comforting. It mostly reminds me of Solea universal cream, mixed with plum and hint of spices and patchouli. I think that roses are to blame for this ˝Solea eff...

Zoya - Beth

It's my favorite season, great for wearing deep nail colors and bolder fragrances, but sometimes you just need a little ˝color break˝ and use something light and universal. I’m talking about my nude nail color, which is not that typical, nude actually. Her name is Beth. She is elegant, sophisticated, but never boring. Beth is from new Zoya’s collection for autumn, called Sophisticated. I would describe it as golden beige frosted color. I was afraid it would have that metallic effect, but it doesn’t. Some said that it’s streaky, but to me it doesn’t seem like. And I’m not a professional nail painter and can be very clumsy. Beth is safe choice for every occasion. It is ˝special˝ enough to be on your nails during holiday season. The formula is quite long lasting and I have a feeling that it doesn’t stink as much as my other polishes while application. Maybe it’s because Zoya belongs to safer, healthier nail polish brands. I usually hate frosted colors, but this is a bright e...

Bobbi Brown: Nude finish illuminating powder

My first association with Bobbi Brown’s makeup is always quality, great and natural looking performance and high price. It has very good reputation, celebrity clients and everything else what goes along with high end brand. A few weeks ago I decided to splurge on noticeable, but natural looking highlighter. When I saw swatches of Bobbi’s nude finish illuminating powder, I was sold. This is it! This is exactly what I need. Although it’s not a highlighter, it looks like it. Reviews on web sites were not brilliant, but reviewers used this as finishing powder, my intention was to use it as highlighter, so I didn’t mind the problem with noticeable glitters. I bought my first Bobbi Brown product. Powder comes in 6 little boxes of differed colors; all together they create the lightest shade named ˝01 Porcelain˝. Small boxes have different finishes; partly matte, pearl and glitter. You can use them separately with a small brush or mix them all together. This powder is almost tr...

Winter wish list

I created a smaller list of things that caught my eye recently and I would like to own them. OK not all of them, but mostly for sure.I planned this post for a long time and was very interesting to observe how quickly my list was changing. Rare things stay the same and for those I'm sure that I really want. (Stradivarius) Checks are really popular this season, also flower embroidery which I adore so much. I found scarf which combines both and I think it will be a trendy addition to my look. I'm not trying to be fashionable, but always buy what I like. This year in great for me, because I'm in love with old fashion and classic patterns. (sweater Orsay, shirt Stradivarius, gloves Stradivarius) Let's move a story from before on a next level. Flower embroidery shirt gives somehow that 70s vibe, but because it's on black background somehow looks modern and not your grandma table clot boring. Gloves would be a great match to a third scarf from above, if...

I got stuck

This time I want to pour my soul out and write about something non-beauty related – I got stuck in my ˝passive life˝ routine. I don’t even know how to call this. I’m constantly craving for more and more material things, I’m never happy with what I already own. I always think like that: when I’ll buy this, I’ll be happy. But I’m not. Ok, maybe it works for day or two, but that’s it. Thankfully new things are not necessarily expensive (Ebay obsession), so I don’t spend that much. My job is boring and has every week less meaning to me. I supposed to be happy that I even got a job, but I can’t console myself with that. I often feel like a third person on a date for two, totally unwanted. My work will play important part in my life, besides my boyfriend of course. I’m not planning to have a family, I would rather work more. I’m also not a career person. I just want a more demanding job with some responsibilities. I want to feel more important part of the company, just someone whose abs...

Valentino: Donna Acqua

I found a beautiful summery fragrance only in August, but I don’t mind. I think it might also work as good during winter in my hot and stuffy office. This is my first fragrance from Valentino; I always admired his products from far and just shyly give them a try. Where can I start? First big impression gives an elegant and heavy glass bottle; it is very similar to her big sister Donna, just thinner and taller. About her big sister, they have nothing in common. Donna is by my opinion heavy, powdery, floral and loud; Donna Acqua is fresh, sweet, lighter and fun. It is simple, floral fruity scent. I would also say it is sunny, happy and a bit girly. On Fragrantica.com is described as oriental floral, but I disagree, on me is pure fruity floral. I must admit I was drawn to it particularly because of the pear not, which is quite strong and long present. It slightly reminds me of Katy Perry’s Meow, but in lighter and mature way.  It is not very original, but similar to s...

Recent favorites

I usually don’t do the list of favorite products, but sometimes you need to do an exception. Some of them are so famous and multi-time reviewed, so I didn’t even bother to describe them fundamentally. All of them were great summer companions, so for all I can say that are heat proof and highly recommended. Balea beauty effect under eye gel patches I wanted to try some kind of under eye patches so badly and when I found them under drugstore brand I was so excited to try them. I mean prices of this stuff can be really up there and claiming about efficiency has no limits. I didn’t expect some kind of professional results, but just something to relax my under eye area. Mission accomplished! These patches have a long lasting cooling effect, which means that it lasts for the whole 20 minutes you have them on. This is surprisingly good for a budget, drugstore item. Patches are a bit thicker, rubber like and there’s no concern to tear them so easily. The only ˝problem˝ is that the...
