CND Vinylux: Vagabond

What do you think about yellow nail polish? My feelings about it are mixed, but sometimes it just feels so good to wear something different, maybe even bolder if you want. Yes, it can look inappropriate or even ugly, but it can also make you feel free. I would describe Vagabond as quite muted, slightly mustardy yellow. It is out of my comfort zone and far away from being office friendly, but somehow I like it. This is my weekend polish and color that makes me happy. So mission off this shade is completed. CND Vinylux is new to me and I’m not very impressed with their quality. Maybe it varies from shade to shade, but this polish chips very quickly, if you don’t use their top coat. It supposed to be long lasting, but sadly not on its own, it’s a two- step system. Color applies patchy, uneven and requires some patience and extra work. This can be very annoying, especially if you’re used to work with top polishes. Formula is very thin, so you’ll need three coats...

Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet

Usually I don’t crave fresh, floral scents, but for spring I wanted something totally different and step out of my oriental cloud. I desperately needed a break, because I was literally sick of heavy, patchouli based perfumes which were wearing me and not the opposite. Selection of pink, girly juices is huge; I decided to give a chance to Dior for the first time. Blooming bouquet was first introduced in 2014 and has established itself quite well in the massive perfume scene. It comes as eau de toilette and is delicate and shy. Very pleasant, but not groundbreaking. I strongly think that its name is its savior, otherwise it would be already forgotten. I would describe it as water infused peony with some fruit. Sadly, at some point fruity part turns sour on my skin, but that phase doesn’t last long. I really like that it’s lightly sweet and refreshing. I think this is leaning more towards younger crowd. It is very easy to wear and definitely a safe blind buy. Be prepar...

Xiaomi m365 mini scooter review by Krištof

Soo, what can I say about my latest mini scooter purchase. First impression is I like it and so do most people who tried it. It is a lightweight 12 kg heavy transportation device, powered by front electric motor, rated for 250 W. Which for me is plenty of power for such a small “vehicle”. Due to its light weight it is also easily transportable either by carrying it by hand or in the trunk of your car. It has a front light which is tilted slightly downward which makes it usable also at night. There seems to be quite a craze on the internet about these mini scooters, they seem to be very popular in the USA and now they are also coming to Europe. What was attractive to me was nice design, lightweight, long range and quite impressive speed. The scooter comes also with application for android called Xiaomi Mi Home where you see various data and settings. As you can see from the picture, scooter can be easily folded, it literally takes two seconds. Claimed range is 30 km, but...

Book review: Tina Turner - My love story

Hope you had a great jump to 2019! I’m happy that festive time is over; I mean it’s nice, but lasts too long. Anyway let’s start a New Year in best possible way, with a book review. I bought this book a month ago and reading it slowly through whole December. That doesn’t mean that it was bad and didn’t ´pull me it´, but sometimes I like to take my time with books. paperback, 320 pages, published on october 18, 2018 My love story is story about really interesting and fascinating life of Tina Turner or Anna May if we call her by her birth name. Most of us of course know about her rich music career and abusive marriage, but there so many things about her that would impress and even surprise you. I won’t tell everything, let’s just say she is lucky to be still alive. It is story about love to life, new beginnings and winning battles. performing with first husband Ike I like Tina, but I’m not her true fan. I was drawn to her story, because I like powerful and strong ...

Looking back on 2018

End of the year is a great opportunity to take some time and look back at your achievements, all the ups and downs. I must say, after a long time, I’m quite proud of myself. I’m far away from being perfect, don’t get me wrong and I still lots of basics things to learn. This year I invested some time in learning, which was almost forgotten task for me. I finished two online coding courses on Coursera (with huge help from my Krištof) and passed special law exam for working in public administration. Next year I want to earn Oxford Cambridge English CAE certificate and continue with coding challenges in Python and SQL. I’m not super smart for programming and need some extra time to figure things out, so I occasionally quit J . Another big thing for me is driving. I actually bought a car and drive almost daily. This was huge deal for me. I usually drive short distances during week and sometimes go somewhere farer during weekend. I’m still afraid of certain situations, freak out before...

Recent Ebay findings

Today I want to show you what I recently bought on Ebay and luckily everything turned out to be ok and as expected. Waiting on package from China or Hong Kong can be endless, so always get super excited when my item finally arrives. Still I mostly buy nail polishes, but right away after that there are stuff for my phone. Cartoon and marble pop-ups Yes I turned 30 this year, but I still have right to buy cute things and cartoon pop-ups for my phone are one of them. These looked so cute and invited that I had to buy at least one. I couldn’t decide between bear with glitters or regular somehow grumpy bear, so I ordered both. I mostly use a pop- up for my tablet, but smaller bear goes on my phone, because when I look at it, it somehow makes me happy. A few months ago I bought marble effect pop-ups, which I also like. I bought one for every family member, but they couldn’t get used to them. They think that this is not practical. Anyway pop-ups are quality made and the glue o...

Sunday mini facial

On Sunday evening is usually a great opportunity to relax and prepare your body and soul for another working week. To me that means hot bath, also little manicure and some extra face and hair care never hurts. Basically every Sunday I try to create a mini spa in my own bathroom for at least 20 minutes. Important part of my relaxing routine is using a face mask. I start my skincare routine with gentle face peeling. I currently use creamy apricot peeling from Afrodita . It’s not my favorite; because it leaves slightly oily trace on my face, but it still does its job nicely. Maybe it is better that it isn’t too harsh. It has thick consistency, natural ingredients and pleasant apricot smell. Every now and then I use nose patches for cleaning my blackheads. I haven’t found the most effective ones yet, but better that they remove something than nothing. I finally continue my ritual with face mask. I currently own two from Apivita which is natural certificated cosmetics brand...
